what do you folks think a realistic power figure (ATW) would be for a 2.6l tr with 204,000 (rebuilt 40,000 ago) with simple breathing mods (pod and muffler) would be?

then the same again with full extractor back exhaust?

and then full exhaust AND stage 2 cam and computer?

what kind of gains have you people experienced going with a full exhaust system and if there is anyone out there who has gone the whole hog with the cam and computer, what kind of gains did you get there?

also how low is too low? im currently running kings superlows in the front and lows in the rear but am considering going 2" lower at the front and 2.5" lower at the rear. camber and castor kits all round as well as a strut brace we (we being myself and another guy from work) are going to make up.

one beauty of working at autobarn is that i can order it in and pay it off while it sits as displays in our performance room taunting me =P

so any advice i can get outta you people would be awesom, and if there are any other mods that you might think would be more worthwhile then please let me know.

and dont forget that mods thread, if you have something to add, please add it, it will save us asking these kinds of questions in the future.

Cheers

hey mate, never modded a 2.6 myself, but i have heard with a full sports exhaust, CAI, computer and cam they can put out around 140kw at the motor, so about 140HP at the wheels. Its not great but its a good improvement.

As for suspension, lowered cars look great, but if you already have kings superlows and lows then i would guess your car is already low enough. If you got another 2" your gonna get defect after defect by the authorities who cant roll there ball under your car! Also its good to have the rear slightly higher then the front as its beneficial to handling.

Hope that helps

I agree with RJL25.
Maybe new paint job or interior. :D :D

im in the middle of painting up the faded trim parts on the outside of the car and i've just finished retrimming the doors, custom made front and rear seat covers are ordered (heaps cheaper than a retrim, plus i get them at cost from work!) gotta finish re-meshing my grille, the painted (or woodgrain?) interior and then im gunna get a few things done under the bonnet.

and thats where i'm getting a little stuck, do i go just exhaust or do i go exhaust AND cam and computer... and then there is the supercharger option.

i've got a supercharger lined up AND someone to help me make up the manifolds etc, but do i bother with it? i'd like the power but is it worth it just to say i've got a blown magna? (and a pretty quick one at that i'd say!)

as far as lowering it more, the local cops are pretty lenient about LOW its just when the melb cops come up that it would have to stay at home.

hrmmmmmmm descisions!!!
