I'm thinking of getting one, but thought that while I'm at it I could get a few extra's to sell. It would end up costing around $30 each once I got them here...
Would anyone be interested?

are you sure thats for a ts? or is it only for an auto? it just doesnt look right. whats that little hole on the left for? if it definately fits a manual ts then im 100% in for one. also do you know what its made of. id wanna paint it first. looks good but.
its for a diamante... but apparently they fit. Not sure about manual - I have an auto. As for that little hole... not sure about that either. Does anyone have a photo of their instrument cluster to do a comparison? :)

its definately the right shape, just dont know about the whole. in the pic it looks like its the trip reset button. but coz its in an auto diamante its got a display where my trip meter is. other than that as long as it fits in its all good. i still want one but try and check these out before you get it. thanks
if it vits the KR Verada then count me in as a definite! :D

The shape is right..that hole isn't needed. The trip needle comes out of the bottom of the middle dial in mine, it's the same in my dad's KR too. So I'd assume its the same in all TR/TS KR/KS models.

Nope - I'm not a fan of them. How about a bulk indigo/white dials?

I had trouble holding the camera still doing 210k/h.. hehe. Thort I'd photoshop it first :) Couldnt be bothered putting the temperature up or having the other engine lights on :)

I'll see if the can make them in different colours and without the hole.

i went and gad a browse through a wreckers yard today and it was the most informative worthwhile thing ive done about my car. you wouldnt believe how much stuff you can work out and discover by looking at a whole bunch or smashed up magnas! my point is that while searching through i found a complete cluster setup. on close inspection i found that i no longer want to buy one of those(sorry i know i said yes but let me explain). the exsisting surround is piss easy to pop out and it allready has a textured finish. i just bought an airbrush setup last week so i have decided to spray my own. it will be very very easy and quick. what i was thinking though is i could do it for any of you guys out there too who arent confident doing it themselves on an exchange basis. that also goes for any of the other small plastic finishings you may want coloured inside your car. like i said it would have to be exchange and i would also charge a small fee to cover materials and stuff but i gaurantee it will be a hell of alot cheaper than getting someone else to do it. so give me your thoughts and pm me if your interested. sorry if ive stuffed your thread up kim!
dont appologise... its a good idea :) There are no Magnas in wrecking yards down here...
How much was it going to cost for you to get a guage surround? (I wouldnt want to paint my factory one incase it looked bad)
oh... got a reply from the people that make those surrounds. They can leave out the small hole when making them.
They also have three styles:
Chrome - Mirror Finish
Aluminum - Silvery color with heavy brushed finish
Stainless - Gray color with light brushed finish
The mirror finish could look neat :) Chrome looks like: http://images.channeladvisor.com/Sell/SSProfiles/30055924/Images/FORD%20FOCUS%20CHROME.jpg

I might be interested, depending on how much, is the price definate?
i'll check that the chrome costs the same.... will let you know.
As for the pricing... you could buy one direct from the manufactuer for $12 US + $15 US Shipping ($42 AU).
OR... we could do a bulk purchase at $12 x Number of items + $15 shipping (so basically we split the shipping)... however then there is the shipping cost of me getting them to you.
The cost of 4 would be $98 Australia - so thats $24.50 each. Postage would probably be under $5 australia wide so thats around $30 each... so we save $12.
As far as guaranteeing that it will fit... I dont know. I can only guess that the Diamante is the same. We can get that little hole taken out when they are made. So if you want one for $30ish inc. postage without anyone else testing them out first let me know... otherwise it'll be $42 for you to buy it seperately (which I guess still aint too bad).
Comments?
i'm still in for one... but chrome :D
ok so you'll take the chance at $30(ish) for chrome? :)
got a reply from them.. the chrome/mirror finish is $5 more (US).
So thats $17 each + $15 international freight = $32 US.
AU$49.50 for you to purchase inc. international postage.
OR: Bulk Order for 2 = AU$37.85 each + Australian postage from me
OR: Bulk Order for 3 = AU$34.00 each + Australian postage from me
OR: Bulk Order for 4 = AU $32.00 each + Australian postage from me

they wouldnt sell me just the surround. only the whole cluster for 50 bucks. this is why is said we could do it as an exchange. i would buy the first one, spray it then send it out and whoever got it would swap them over and send me theirs back to spray for the next person. or you could just use your own to start. send it, i spray it, send it back. im going to the hobbie shop this arvo to check out their paints. they have some pretty awesome colours and finishes.
anyway... just after confirmations of order. As I mentioned I cant be 100% certain it will be a perfect fit... I just hope that Diamantes are the same shape. I'm happy to order one for me at the full price and take some photos for people... then if its good you can all order a bulk purchase or something?
