thought id mod up my dyno charts and mod for mod with each ..... kinda shows what to expect from certain mods

i know my tourque figures are all over the place but as was explained to me it is very at to measure unless u are dyno'ing at the engine.... plus first dyno chart was in 4th gear the rest in 3rd so thats another reason

dyno1
this was as i brought the car with 2 and a half inch cat back exhaust 121.7kw's

127.2 KW's ..i had changed the muffler to a SSS cannon, EZY boys highflow throttle body, and changed my stock air filter to a hot air KN pod filter

dyno 3
129.7 ooooohhh soooo agonsingly close to 130:( ohwell
i had fitted TH smokers CAI most of u know the deal but for those of you who dont the pod sits down near the tyre and sucks in cold air

i know dyno's r very subjective but!! on my first dyno day i got all low 120's on my 2nd day i got mid 120's on the 3rd i got high 120's so i think there is a very clear gain in each mod

the weather conditions were pretty well the same ... all pretty cool days

im pretty confident in the accuracy of the dyno aswell, as grahamwest dyno is one of the best in australia, he updates his software regularly and is the autosalon dyno for adelaide

anyways hope some of u ppl find the charts interesting

next mod is the 80MM throttle body and a greddy hopefully get me to 140's

Haha... sorry, not bagging but everyone says they're accurate. They wouldn't say otherwise or they'd lose business.

:doubt: - Hmm... that will be interesting. Are you using the stock plenum in an unmodified state?

actually no, they didnt say they was the most accurate... as faras most ppl in adelaide r concerned grham west dyno is the best around and is the MOST accurate i never said it was 100% accuarate .... jeez all im trying to show is a clear indiacation of gains per mods as ppl r always asking what gains they would get from certain things

Heh, u haven't met all ppl here yet. For some, only 100% is sufficient, 99% is not worth to spend time on. :)

thanks for the info - dynos are always a little subjective - but if the weather conditions are similar, and car is in same gear -then you get a very good idea of if gains have been made from modifications

does anyone know why mitsi appears to have tuned the engine deliberatly rich .. . . ..

and does anyone have a std hp/torque and lambda chart - to see what a completly std jigger puts out)

also - what "langauage" does the std ecu use - obd11??????

thanks

Magnas aren't ODB-II compliant, unfortunately :( You can buy tools to read the ECU - Haltech have one that I know of - but I don't believe you'll get a whole lot of success from a standard ODB-II scanner.

As for why they're so rich, it's almost certainly just a safety feature. Since they're mass produced they need a map that'll cope with any manner of production differences and differences in conditions. I mean, just about every dyno graph I've seen on here shows the car at 12:1 or richer (to 10.5:1 in EGO's car) at WOT, but my car has always run closer to 13:1 at full load, but then I'm in Darwin so things might be different here.. or my engine is just weird.. either way, if the maps were too cutting edge my car would be running too lean.
