Cant afford them? Mate go to your local mitubishi wreckers, you can pick one up for 50 bucks easy! Ask for a KS Grille (they may even got the colour you want too)
As far as painting it, i have no idea, i'm no good with paint cosmetics :P

i assume its just grey? are u sure its painted already?
if its painted, sand it all back to the plastic, use some plastic primer spray it on, then sand using 800 grit or sumting realtivly smooth, repeat about 3-4 times
then goto supoercheap or sumthing, look thru the paint book to see if it has ur colour white, or pick up a can of white automotive paint that looks close to your colour, spray on a layer going up n down then side to side, only do fine layer and sand with 800-1000 grit then repeat 5-6 times or until ur happy with it then the final layer sand with 1600 and get it all smooth
because its white u shouldnt need a clear coat, if u want extra gloss tho give it a couple of layers of clear coat same way u would the paint
basically dont rush it and prep everything properly (dont skimp on the sanding otherwise the finish wont be smooth) it will look stock

had $30 burning a hole in my pocket. so what did i by????????
i did not get a chance 2 paint my mud guards when i was painting all the plastic stuff so i got to it.
so went down to my local peps at Liverpool south hoxton park rd. to see were all peps are go here http://www.pepsautospares.com.au/index.php?page=st ores (http://www.pepsautospares.com.au/index.php?page=stores)
get your paint code off your car take it in to the store and say can u make a pressure pack can of.....mine is paint code mx Rio red. and they make a spray can of you color car. then u go home
1st take off the guards then sand them Really well mine were not that bad. i used 320 wet & dry sand paper to get big marks out and then used 1500 wet & dry.
Next wash them in soapy water and then I used a spray can of "wax & grease remover" $12.95. You just spray it on and then wipe it off to removes any dirt etc then leave to them to dry.
Whe you come back you can apply 1st coat of "plastic primer" $13.80, I put on 3 coats of this. When they're dry get the spray can of your color and start spraying i put 4 light coats on mine.
then u know what to do put them back on (after they're dry of corse)
this is the plastic primer and the paint they make 4 u

i did what Gerard told me to do and that was to paint it with white spraypaint and i did and i think it looks sweet, also those mudflaps are sweet, i might do that once i get my bumpers matched the same colour as my car. I would put pics up but i dont know how.
