hi all

the magna we got (93 executive V6) is color coded, has 15" stock instead of 14" and some other farty things

it also has on the back "S.V. PERFORMANCE".

my dad says this was a special sports model that came out but thats all he has

does anyone know if they've heard of such a car and has any other info. im interested to know anything else about this car as my dad said there were very few made

any magna buffs have a clue?

hmmm i'd say that the s.v. performance was just a sticker of maybe a workshop that has done work to the car, has the car got any after market engine mods? I see the exhaust isn't stock, was this done by you?

yeah mate the exhaust was done by us, but we originally had a dual tip that was chrome. as far as i know the engine....well.....looks the same as any other engine, just i havent heard much of this car and was wondering if any stats ect were out there

it is prolly just a magna s.e. svv performance would be a sticker of a mechanic workshop. as far as i know, there would be nothing rare or special about it, and mitsubishi didn't bring out any "rare" magna's. just a normal everyday magna or magna se

**looked in my magna book that i have, in the early 1990's mitsubishi had a sporty TR, with NBL Challenge stickers on it, because the Brisbane bullets basketball team used to promote the TR magna's in advertising commercials. There wasn't anything special about them really

well theres nothing about the nbl on there, just was thinking maybe it was a sports edition ive never heard of. ithasnt had any performance mods, and the s.v performace i think might be relating it to the other "special vehicles" of the time i.e.HSV?.....just a thought i had, anyone got any websites that some of this info might be on?

nah dude got no website info, only a book of all magna's produced. Aahhh so it's only an exec. prolly ur previous owner color coded the bumpers, but then again they where optional, its a hard one.. i don't think a car company would badge a s.v "special vehicle" with an executive badge, executives are the lower range model. I used to have a V6 TR executive before i sold it and upgraded. it had stuff other TR's didn't have ie, door lights, foot lights, verada clock etc etc, apparently the first owner paid for extra's to be fitted

When I purchased my TS brand new back in 96, I had an S.V Performance sticker on the boot, I have an Executive too!!
I have foot light's, door light's, dash clock, cruise, immobiliser, cd player, all come standard. I never orderd any of these!!

ARE You serious????.....we got jack shizen in ours (maily cause my dad was to cheap)...we got no footlight, no dash clock, no cuise, no immobilser, NOTHING LOL......could you pm me some pics, or post them up as im very intrigued.

i live in melbourne mate we got it from alan mance in footscray, and its an auto, the sv performance isnt a sticker, its like actuall paint thats stuck to the boot.....its not going anywhere lol

Yeah, Ive got 2 executives, 1 from brand new, it had a fair bit in it, while the other executive had hardly anything!

When I got my first one 96, it was the run out model before the TE was marketed, Mitsubishi was doing everything to get rid of the TS, and they added all these options in them for no extra charge. Thats why I got one!!

if you know who the selling dealer was then ask them what they can tell you about the car.
About trim level, most executives were the same,
the main differences i have seen in TR executive trim is that some have fabric inserts on the door trims and others don't and from March 93 on central locking was standard in executives.
I once owned a TR challenge, among other things the seats and doors were retrimmed by the dealer in a sporty non-mitsubishi velour fabric.

One more thing to thro into the discussion - unless I'm wrong 4cyl TR/TS Magna's came out with 14" stockies but the V6 came out with 15" stockies. Your car's a V6, so that explains the 15" stockies.

And yeah, Mitsubishi (& other manufacturers) were kind back then, they didn't mind mixing and matching a bit more than they do now. When my wagon was ordered, the previous owner had to wait a few months coz he ordered a slightly different package - V6, 5spd Manual Wagon with ABS and Airbag. Unfortunatley he didn't go with any other luxury options like the Verada stuff but I've fixed some of that (interior & door lights, dash clock, leather seats, Verada door trims).
These days, the dealer can add some options but if it needs to be factory fitted (like a manual gearbox) - that's when things get harder.

all the stuff you do or don't have is factory options, original owners would've chosen them, like the sports wagons etc, some specials just have electric windows, which i want

Yeah ive seen two TS's with "SV6-III" on the boot here in Adelaide. Both black and both looked similar to my magna, colour coded, same alloys, same spoiler.

I didn't pay for any of my extra's on my car, and i'm the 1 owner. It had an SV6 sticker next to the Executive badge too. But being the 96 TS run out model, they threw alot of other stuff in to get rid of them

Most likely a dealer special when my mate bought an AU falcon the dealer marked it as an Falcon Forte SFX all they did was tint it lowered it and put 16" mags on it the dealer had sfx on alot of there range like focus and lasrs etc nothing special just little extras dealer put on to get rid of them

ours does have the fabric inserts, and it does have central locking, but thats about it, well, when i get some time (i.e. get my "P"s) i might pop down and see what they say. and GRDPuck i didnt know that so thank you.

so do most people agree here it might of been a dealer special to clear out the TR's before the newer TS's came in?. (im sure ours is a 93 made in about june/july, i dont know when the TS's came out)

In the TR series the 4 cylinder definately had 14" stock and V6 had 15" stock, TS, i was under the same impression, unless they decided to make 15" standard later on down the track, or maybe you just got 15" stockies cuz they ran outer 14" lol

i can understand a dealer putting on extra options to piss off a model b4 the new one came out.....but to put S.V Performance on it.....i dunno.....doesnt make any sence??

wouldnt mits put on Ralliart or MMC or something else??

my ts came with a few options.....cloth door trims, immobilizer, power mirrors, abs, and i think a slightly different paint.....im not even sure if these are optional extras. i can get the codes to check.

Your car is a runout model i believe, as it has alot of extra stuff for an executive.
