Hey All,
Ok I got some problems with the HandBrake(cable?)...
The handbrake when parked will hold the car from rolling backwards but not forward, I have to leave the car in first gear to stop it from rolling forward, at first i thought the handbrake cable just needed to be adjusted but I think its more than that... Any ideas all?

Yeah I thought it was the Pads too, but I checked them and they are about half worn...

un less they changed the designe you need to un adjust the cable and take rear rotors off to adjust the shoes then readjust the cable good luck because if done wrong they will squeel and or lock up

3rd gen hand brakes are seperate from the caliper, that is the caliper does not engage the handbrake.
inside the rotor is the shoes which operate the handbrake, if they need an adjustment the rotor does not have to come off as there is a grommet which pops out and allows u access to the adjuster, but depending on how many k's the car has done i would pull the rotor off to inspect everything FIRST
haha, sorry but it sounds just like the hassels i've been having,
had it check'd out and was told my pads were fine and it just needed to to be adjusted,
took it to a brake specialest and was told the cable had strech'd and need'd a new cable.
$300 for a new cable and it's a little better but still sucks big time compared to most other vehilces (i've got a 96 V6 TE manual)
probs i got now is that you can hear the hand brake catching at times (sqeaks at slow speeds) and still don't hold the car on steep slopes
anyway, let me know if you get it fix'd and what the prob was as i'll get it check'd on mine

Just an update, got my car back today from it's service/waterpump change and the guys fix'd the handbrake while they were at it, never got to speak to them so i don't know what they did, but they never charged for it so it must have just been an adjustment or something, grrrrrrrrr at brake guys for stuffin me round
