hella noob question,
my oil level dipstick is frustrating me, changed the oil a bit over a month ago and checked the oil last week ok its right on low. Then put about a litre in and check it, its got two streaks up the sides of the dipstick... and some oil right up towards the middle of the dipstick...

Just checking if i should just read it from the top of the two streaks or wait till the how dipstick is filled in...don't wanna have to much resistance on the crank
thanks

Wipe it and check it again... ignore the streaks...

Drive car until engine's at operating temperature, to burn off water and condensation. Park car and switch off engine, let it sit for about 10mins so all oil drips to the bottom of the sump. Pull stick out, wipe, then insert all the way without shaking it around. Lift and read the centre of the stick, ignore streaks on the side.

1. Pull dipstick out.
2. Wipe it with cloth.
3. Put dipstick back in.
4. Pull it out again immediately.
5. Look at horizontal line of oil on the dipstick. Shold be between low and max notches.
6. If ur on low or under, add about a litre.
7. If ur a tiny bit over, ehhh no dramas lol.
