Hey guys,
First things first i need some general advice, my suspension is SH!T, i have no idea how old it is but the rear has sagged so much (from lpg being in there for years, has now been taken out) that it's at about low springs height as stock springs lol.
The fronts are lower but the worst part about it is that the tyres rub going over bumps and that bumps in the road feel shocking, as well as my car moving around like a boat.
Dunno how old the shockers are either so my question is, if i'm getting new springs (king low rears, superlow fronts) should i replace the shockers as well? Monroe GT gas alright?
Also i will need new tyres soon, whats the correct profile to wear on a 16 inch rim for a TR? i have TF profile tyres at the moment and my speedo is out a little (probably why my tyres are rubbing a little).
Now how much will all this cost me? anyone know any good workshops in Vic that does a good value job without being dodgy?
I figure i need new suspension so i might as well get it all lowered and done properly.
Any advice, opinions, dinner recipes etc. are welcome :).
Thanks.

Tyres: Are your current ones 215/60 R16 if so, that's too big, try 215/55 R16. I used 225/50 R16
which is a little too small. Mind you, 55 profile tyres are expensive as they are fairly rare (not
many cars use them as oem).
Shocks: Monroe GT Gas is good enough. You can go Konis if you have the dough.
Springs: Kings are a good match with the Monroes. I've got them at the moment. Bear in mind
that you'll need to fit a camber kit to the fronts otherwise you'll have too much negative camber
and cause uneven wear.
I agree with vlad except i dont think you will need the camber kit (but for an extra $50 it cant hurt to have them).
Also, do the install yourself, its very easy to do.
I can even help you change them out and remove that wing for you at the same time ;)

So you can do the lot can you? what experience do you have?
Not doubting your abilities or anything but it's a pretty major safety item of the car and if it stuffs up i need someone to blame :P.
Though i might take you up on your offer (except for the wing lol).
OK i thought i'd stop being lazy and actually tell you the tyres i'm using, my stock 14" rims were 185/75R14, the tyres i'm running now are 215/60R16

Also checked the tyre size calculator and can i run 225/50R16?
Also checked the tyre size calculator and can i run 225/50R16? You can run 225/50R16 tyres. That's what I use at the moment. It is slightly smaller than the
standard 205/65/15 in overall diameter which means that when the needle points at 60, you'll
actually be doing about 58 or so. Then again, I read an article on tyres recently and the sectional
width which is the 225 etc is not the same for each tyre manufacture. It said something like 10mm
difference between the brands they tested. This ofcourse affects the overall diameter as the side
wall height is a percentage of the sectional width.

tyre calc says it's only .3 % out, so the speed would be like 59.8 km/h when the speedo says 60km/h
tyre calc says it's only .3 % out, so the speed would be like 59.8 km/h when the speedo says 60km/h It is 2.5% smaller compared to a stock 205/65 R15 which is what I thought your originals were. Is
yours a V6 or a four banger. V6's had the 205/65 R15 stock and the 4 bangers had the 185/75
R14 stock.
Ignore me, just checked your profile and you have a 4 banger.

Yeh i have the 4 banger stock 185/75 R14's (earlier post).
lol so does that mean if i get 225/50 i should be fine then :).

Yeah ive replaced a few in my time.
My Ford XF, parents TF Magna, My VRX, Harro's 2nd gen, soon to be my XR6T and a few other friends vehicles.
Its not rocket science as some suspension places make it out to be. So long as you got all the right torque settings its easy peasy japanesey..
