Hey guys im probably next week gonna pick up a new DVD HU next week for my car as im sick of all the cds i got and the fact later on ill be able to add a screen.

now im wondering what brands do you guys see that have good DVD HU's im looking at the JVC ones right now cause they are well priced from what i can see.

Also i will prob be buying it from Tower Audio when they have their sale on next friday with up to 70% off here in vic.

any help appreciated thks.

yeah i was thinking the same it looks very nice and dosent cost the earth either.

also i think better then those fully sick HU's which have the moving images cause i can hook up a screen and have music videos going hehehe.

also less chance of it breaking down having to worry about all the colour screen and displays ect.. i watch all my music as music videos now, i love it :D

You can pick them up for 700 pretty easily from JB and stuff. They always drop the price when you ask.

Try that brash imports place. $800 for double din size with build in screen. Some guys bought from there and say they were impressed. I dunno who, but that's what i heard. I will be buying one from there soon... :)

Had a close look at this JVC unit last night.

Looks good in the website pix and all that, but I found it real plasticky cheap in the flesh.
Front panel is thick and chunky and I don't think I could fit that flush into a 3rd gen hole.

Good idea, decent features etc etc... but the execution is subpar imho.

After having a look at all the JVCs etc etc... went and bought the Sony MEX-R1.
JVC's flipdown screen made it a bit difficult to flush-fit into 3rd gen's hole
and the silver clashes with the rest of the dash anyway.

Installed MEX-R1 on Sat, tested it for 12+ hrs - fantastic!!
