Hey just wondering how fast ppls heaters in their cars come on? I have a TF and we've had some cold nights lately in Adelaide and been on nightduty its been having a workout, but it just seems to take forever for warm air to actually come through it. Sometimes 5 minutes, sometimes 10... Just my last 2 cars, a Falcon and a Daewoo it was usually a 1 minute wait for the temp to rise. Just wondering if this is normal or is their a minor problem? When the heat does get working its fine... its just the waiting period.
well the heater comes from the engine heat so u gotta wait till yur engine is warm
usually around 5mins

my TR use to heat up super quick, but that was because the engine also heat up super quick! As meh said the heat comes from the engine, and mitsubishi have an excellent cooling system on their V6's which has the downside of a slow response time for your heater

is it possible to fit an eletric heater somewhere in the pipes without taking your dash out,
more expensive cars have this feature automatic heating thing of a big hair drier.

most likely its time to change your thermostat - they usually break 'open' as such, so it takes longer for the engine to heat up - hence also the heater is slow to warm up. Radiator flush, new thermostat, new coolant, you'll be back in business.
