ive got a bottle of CK One in the car that works well ;)

buy a tube of that nice smelling fuffly fabric softner and put it in your car. gets rid of the smell beauti***lly

hmmm....... i bought the car when it smelt like air freshener

If you're not joking that is, it sounds like that maccas smell might be the smell of mold. Have you checked you boot to see if its leaking and full of water? Check underneath your spare tyre if there is any leaking and you might need to use some silicon around the edges of your tail lights if you've got any leaking.

Yeah especially on really wet days my car has that deep fried/stale fart smell in it.
My little ambipur works well. Having a sniff around, floor carpets etc just feel clamy, so that probably contributes. Wait till spring/summer and the smell goes away.

Don't use McGuires odor remover or that fabreeze stuff - it gave me hayfever, and choked me pretty bad.
Here's a mental image for you. I paid for a BP car wash and I got to use their fragrance gun thingy with vacuum. So I vacuumed the car and gave it a shot of fragrance ( several shots actually), climbed into my car to go through the drive through. About half way through the cleaning cycle I could feel my throat closing over, my eyes streaming and I was gasping for air. The wash couldn't finish fast enough. When it finished I threw my door open and near fell out struggling for air.
I then had to drive around with the windows down for a week!

Well when i got my car it still had the new car smell (i love new car smell) and i vowed to never let anyone have maccas or any sh!t in it that would make it smell, but my friends and that have maccas in there and i occasionally grab it on the way home from work...
but the worst thing for stinking out my car is when i have been at work (baker) all the crap that gets stuck in my shoes (combination of water, flour, salt, sugar, yeast, garlic, tomato, icing, EVERYTHING) just seem to hang around in the car for ages... plus you get garlic on ya hands and even though you wash them, freshly crushed garlic odour on your hand doesnt wash off for a couple of days... that also gets trapped in the car..

haha those fragrance guns, $1 for a minute of spray time, comes in vanilla strawberry or new car scent... well the vanilla is enough to choke anyone or anything, the strawberry one stinks and the new car one doesnt smell like new car... plus the make ya carpets and seats go all greasy and if you spray them and leave the windows and doors closed you cant breathe... i find the little blue tree thinggos in the new car scent to be pretty all right, just open the packet and pull half the tree out for the first couple of weeks, otherwise it also is too strong... I occasionally get that stale smell of a winter time, when its a fine day i just drive round with all the windows down and at about 100 kph and it gets rid of it (for a while lol )

My first thought was yeh stop eating maccas in your car then, but after reading other posts i remember how rotten my boot smelled when the water was leaking in around the tail lights causing the tyre well to fill up. ended up having to do some serious cleaning.

The reason I deleted the posts and didnt delete the thread was that it could've been a legitimate problem, just the likening it to maccas chips might've been the only way he could describe it.

billy the reason i was so critical was that, i dont know if the post has since been edited or deleted, but magna freak actually admited that yes the smell WAS from eating maccas in the car and not some other thing that just smelt like maccas.

so what if he has been eating maccas in his car hes still stuck with getting the smell out, simply not eating mcdonalds will not get rid of the smell. I have used those spray things you find at car washes left all the windows open and just sprayed away its bin 2 weeks and i can still smell cherries :D
