I have a 2002 TJ and recently I noticed that the battery icon (or charge lamp indicator as stated in the manual) does not turn off when the engine is started. It stays on for 5 to 10 minutes, then sometimes it turns off, then comes back on...

I don't really know what this means as the manual is very vague (problem with the charging system, contact Mitsu). Any ideas? Could it just be a dying battery?

And what does that mean? Sorry, I know very little when it comes to these sort of things.

It's weird, sometime it stays off for a while, then flashes on/off a few times while I'm driving and so on. Seems very random, almost like a loose connection or something.

get the altinator s charge rate checked should be 14v + or - .5v if not get altinator rebuilt
