Anyone have a problem like this...
All my gears in the TR i have work fine, onlything that does not work is the OVERDRIVE button..?
Anyone fixed this before, I was told to get a whole New Transmission but All the gears are still fine, do I ruled that out. Anyone know any prices? fixed this before?
Also looking at getting fuel injectors cleaned?
Easy DIY job or how much would it cost for it to be done??
thanks in advance, looking for specific and helpful information, no stupid responses please

Count your gears when you accelerate from standstill...
Do you still have 4 gears? (= 3 shifts)
yes = the electronic button is broken
if you've only got 3 gears (= 2 shifts) and its revving to 2500+ at 100km/h,
sounds like the electronic overdrive is gone.
Gearbox recond might be the way to go, have heard recent one was a cheap as $800+gst.

DIY job = pour a bottle of cleaner into your tank. :doubt:
PRO job = get them taken out, put on ultrasonic cleaner machine with solvent flowing
through them and the jets checked for their actual flow pattern. Replace any crap ones.
Cost probably $40-60 to clean each injector (x4 or x6 depending on your engine).

I did my injectors about 6 months ago. Easy job to do. Took about 20-30mins to remove and about the same time to put back. I got them cleaned and flow tested with new mesh filters, o'rings for $25 an injector. Best money i ever spent. Car idles perfectly and accelerates alot smoother.
