Well, my tyre anyway. An oncoming driver decided to stay more towards the centre of the road than move to the edge resulting in me having to leave the road. At that point the asphalt was about 100mm deep and going off then coming back on, (to avoid the 'V' drain), popped the inside tyre wall. So, I'm up for at least a new tyre.

Has anyone got or used Hankook tyres? I wanted to stick with the Falkens but to make sure I've got a legal set of tyres, I was going to get their 225/50 which is rated equal to or above the 95 I need for the car.

get a tyre match to be safe.. I think you can swap your tyres around so the Tread is the same pattern on the front..then get a close match for the rears..

Yeah, I was thinking of swapping the pair. My spare's a 225/50 but the rest are 235/45's.

my last set were Hankook Ventus Sport K104. excellent tyre for the money you pay. decent wear, nice and grippy. great value for a medium range tyre. (this was for 245/35 though, unsure of 225/50)

Hey mate, sorry to here about your tyre. But look on the bright side, it could have been worse...

While traveling down a one lane country road, I dipped into the dirt to pass an oncoming car. Blew my passenger side rear tyre. The next thing I know, my car is sideways! (think the rim bit the dirt) The car just missed a metal barrier (leading to a bridge), went airborne of the side of the road, down into a small creek. The roof hit a big tree limb and the car ended up noise into a shallow creek with the roof crumpled up over the boot. A quick way to get a convertable EA Fairmont. I walked away with only a small cut behind my ear (which only needed a few stiches). The drivers seat area was the only bit to remain intact - my door even opened okay. Yes I was lucky.

Anyway, I had some Hankook tyres on a 4WD I once owned which were okay - no problems. However I replaced them with Yokohama's in the next set which were better. But still the Hankooks were okay.

Actually, it could have put me into the next oncoming car and fortunately they weren't tail-gating but yeah, it coud always be worse.

Well, I've got two K104's 225/50R17's on order. I'll put them to the rear and push the Falken 235/45R17's up front kinda weird but hey, not keen to kill off too much good rubber.

I'm only going Hankook tyres because they are the only tyre I've found which can be legally fitted to my car
