if you want mitsubishi traction control im pretty sure you cant fit it aftermarket.. but i dunno. I know that you can get aftermarket traction control systems however, i have seen them fitted to some high kw modded holdens and fords... Starr Performance in melbourne sells them for commodores, dunno if they have one that would fit a magna tho

From the factory, TCL and auto always go together. Even in the Ralliart, the autos get TCL, while the manuals get the LSD. I think you'll have a hard time adding it after. Not sure why you'd want it anyway. Handy safety feature, no good at all for performance.

Humm I disagree there, performance with TC over windy roads will be much faster then without it, front wheel cars understeer ect, with TC set to about 15 or so percent, you can fly through corners and still power on. I have had it on rear wheel drive car, and it you going for quick times through the twisties TC is a must, along with good suspension ect.
Anyway does anyone know if greddy e management does it?

if you are skilled at modulating the throttle, then your always gonna go quicker then a car with traction control fitted will allow you to do. Wheelspin, when properly controlled, can actually be beneficial and give you more speed

Magna traction control is NOT a sophisticated traction control system like you might find on an R34 GTR or M3. All my traction/trace control does is bog me down mid corner, and take forever to give the power back to me on exit. At times it is down right dangerous, especially when you need to boot it turning at an intersection and all you get is a trickle of power.
With TCL turned off i may be a lot closer to stuffing it into a pensioners front yard, but I can corner a LOT faster.

You obviously have never driven hard a Magna with the factory TCL. Pushing it hard through a corner, if it decides you're pushing too hard, it backs you off. Result - a big dead spot when trying to punch it out of the corner. Trust me, if you want to drive near the limit, you don't want TCL. If you want to know your wife and kids are safe/safer, sure, leave it on.

I know that standard magna TC is crap, hence I am looking for a replacement.
I want to use the standard sensors and cut the ignition along with the fuel, I only want about 15 percent or so. Either way just another gadget to add to my car.
As for driving hard, well I guess you all have to come and have a race on TASY roads, moss, dirt, mud, ohh yeah and corners, you guys know corners. LOL sorry not meaning to start a flame, just having fun.

umm.. yeah we have mountains n sht to drive on here in the mainland dude.. :P
you'd be much better off spending the money on a good LSD, the results would be WAY better
I guess we now have answered the question that the Magna TCL may save your bacon, but is no good for spirited driving.
I just read an article on Autospeed about 'Racelogic', an after market traction control system. Back in 2001 this was $2970 + $420 installation.

MOTEC M48 can be optioned with a Traction Control that works with existing ABS sensors (other ECU's can do TC as well)...but for this much money you could buy 2 x Quaife/Cusco Limited Slip Differential's that would work a billion times better than traction control...
dont believe me??? then drive a Integra Type R/S or a Ralliart Magna...

An LSD in a front wheel drive car will induce push through a corner, I know I have driven cars with such diffs, one being the rally art magna, and I did not like it. The dif will cause the inside wheel to slip and push through corners. This has always been the case, even with RWD cars. A LSD is great for the drag strip but in most applications it does not actual make the car better to drive. Anyway some like it others don’t, I personally do not like LSD in a FWD car, a Viscous torque splitting one maybe but not for me sorry.
Anyway thanks for the replies anyway. much apppriciated.
