Just changed 6 spark plugs on my car today, as it was meant to be done at 100k service, (its now 120kms), anyway i was shocked at the price, $230 for 6 platinum spark plugs, my dad went to this plce we always go and didnt bother tpo ask the price, he was shcoked also, how much does it usually cost to change 6 platinum spark plugs on a TF v6?

btw, someone told him $130 (a place that services taxi's mainly) anyway i really think he got ripped off :rant:

230 WTF go to supercheap $120 for the set of irdium platium plug takes 15 min to do

Ok the Back Plugs Should be Platnium plugs or Iriduim as long as they are long life...
Save Money next time use conventional plugs on the front.. You can change them easily your self.. the Back however I totally agree in paying to get it done...
But 6 Platnuim plugs is a little overkill..

yeah, but i dont know how to do any stuff other than put oil and water in, so i thought jsut put platinum in there and dont have to worry aobut it until 200,000kms

depends on the plug installed ngk plugs retale at about $30 each x 6 = 180 plus lab whish would be aprox 1/2 to 1hr + intake gasket so thats around right if u ask me.

just put iridiums in mine, 6 all round.
Very nice plug.
Cost me around the $105 mark but you can usually get them for around $20 each ($120)
Putting the back bank in takes a little while but very very easy, all you need is a few spanners/sockets.

also being in trade for over 10 years i will only fit ngk plugs not keen on any other brand as they dont seem to last as long and had problems with lpg powered cars about 5 years ago i fitted bosch plugs to a car running on lpg and it would not even start again took them out fitted ngk plugs fired up first turn may pay little more but ngk are the way to go

yeah it was NGK laser platinum, took him 1 hr to do all,
another thing whats the difference between gtx 2 and magnetic? i wanna to put magnetic ($50) in it, but ended up with gtx2 ($40 with filter).

yeah, repco is selling em for $24.99 (but the normal price for magnetic is $30) but they change the oil and filter for you, they gpotta make soemthing ....
