My TP GLX normally aspirated engine, continually revs up and down at idle, the tachometer fluctuates wildly whilst driving, and the engine does not stop for up to 60seconds after turning the ignition off. The carburettor has been recently (february) reconditioned, and the spark plugs are clean showing no deposits. Does anybody have any idea of what could be causing these problems?, are they linked or independent of each other?

check basics compression spark (timing) and fuel timing sounds like the key or a vacume leak around manafold

Thanks, I believe that a vacuum leakage is the main culprit

tachometer fluctuates wildly whilst driving, mine just started doing this just his week only when above 3k rpm it dips like is loosing power (the tacho motor seems fine) or is my tacho about to crap itself

I drive without looking at the tacho anyway... If it wont rev any higher I'm either at the redline, out of gears or need the grab next one.

Big problem with these cars is the dist bush and advance wearing, get a reco dist, your tach should steady as should the idle
