Hello hello,
Just got my car brack after changing the disc pads, and the mechanic noted a few observations:
- My L&R CV boots have split. Is this problem urgent? He's quoting me $120 each to get them repaired/sealed/(I don't know).
- My centre muffler has a hole in it. Quoted $225. Urgent?

But yeah...I'm more worried about the CV boots than the muffler. Comments & suggestions much appreciated.

$125 for a new joint or just the cover ??
if just the cover $50 each
u might wanna get it done before any water gets in there

muffler isnt too urgent but u could get a whole new system for almost that price

Boots are cheap, the labour is not too bad however as the front end has to be partly diamantled it is also a good idea to get a wheel allignment after

The water and grit can destroy a cv in a very short time.

Caught early only the boot has to be replaced. Is it making a clicking sound yet?
Pedders replaced my CV boot for $90 including all parts and labour.

Nope..no clicking sound or anything yet.

Pedders?

90 dollars to get it replaced sounds damn good. And I thought K-M...(go figure) was supposedly cheap.

does anyone know the cost of getting each joint replcaed/recond'd? my mechanic quoted me $300 (parts+labor) each side but i think he's trying to rip me off.

That's dirt cheap  compared to my quotes of about 100 dollars each.
Where was that done may I ask?
