hey all,

just getting back into car audio... it's so true what they say about it being an addiction, I think i'm going to have to start selling my body to fund it!!:D

I'm after people's opinions on some of the lower end rainbow range (although i was i had $10k to spend on the reference series). Looking at the CMX 265 Kick or CS 265 Profi Vanadium Kick to compliement my other new purchases (Alpine 9851, Jaycar 4x100 amp, jaycar splits). How do these compare to other similarly priced splits from morel/mbquart/focal/PG etc?? Further, is anyone aware of rainbow dealers in vic?

Was originally going to put the jaycar's up front, but have deceided that I would rather spend some extra $$$, buy some higher-end gear and use the jaycars as rear fill. Any help appriciated

Rainbow make some quality stuff, but I've never had the luxury of hearing them unfortunately... So soz no help there...

Also consider Dynaudio

Rainbow's make fantastic speakers but like Dyn, Morel, Diamond, Focal, Eton, Phass etc they're smooth and have a warm sound to them. They're attack is not as strong as say Boston, PG, DD or Image Dynamics.

Strung, are you in NSW? Being the sole NSW dealer for Rainbow I have a couple of cars here equipped with them if you wish to come and audition. I have the Profi Vanadium in one car, Profi's in another and I use some Reference components in my heap. :)

Thanks for the input guys, much appreciated

FHRX: Unfortunately i'm located in Victoria, although the idea of considering these speakers actually came after looking at the FHRX website under the "What's the best system I can get for XXXX dollars? " FAQ. My plan was to hear them locally, then order a set of you guys. Also a warm sounding speaker is what i'm after.
