has anyone here ever polished any of their engine parts? not port and polish type polish, but cleaned up and polished the exterior?

im just wondering if people have and what they used to do it.

my old tm, i had a mate who polished bullbars for tjm, i gave him a spare tappet cover and he polished it,i painted the finned section and it looked good, every time i opened the bonnet people commented on it, he used a machine buff but if you are keen enough you could start by sanding it with 1200 wet & dry (wet) then use some autosol and maybe finish it off with brasso.....good luck.....hmmm i might try that myself... lol

exterior of engine? what like rocker cover and manifold or the block or something?
ive sanded and enamaled my rocker cover but thats about all. sorry if your meaning something else.

cheers guys, gunna give it a go today... my old rocker cover was 2paced the same colour as my car, but it cracked, and i thought i'd give the polished look a go =P
