G'day guys, I've just gone out and bought a 93 TR Magna and while i was at it, i decided to get some pioneer 350W 3way 6X9's and an alpine 600W 2 channel amp to back it up as im only running a pretty standard HU (eurovox).
Anyways to the point, the speakers dont fit in the holes in the parcel shelf and i am wondering if its better (or possible) to cut the parcel shelf or build some spacers out of MDF.
Im only new to everything in the ways of the magna, but hopefully i'll learn lol :P
Thanks

You should be able to fit 6x9's down the back of the TR?? I am sure a TR owner will inspire you shortly..

Cheers guys. I bought the speakers last night and i hadnt looked into really any detail :P, I just knew the 6X9's wouldn't fit in the holes the standard speakers were in.
Thanks for your help guys!

They should fit straight in, just going front-to-back instead of width-ways like you'd normally do.
I have pioneer 6x9s in my TR.

They fit, you may have to remove the spacers that are there for 6" speakers though. They should just unscrew.

Will all magnas from the TR/TS range have holes for 6x9`s down the back? I havent got any speakers up the back in my ts, but if i peel back the carpet will there be holes there?
or is it more a case of "not needed so not bothered" ?

looks are nothing.. If he is not getting a sub then 6x9's will be the ultimate rear shelf set up..You don't drive around looking at your speakers you spend more time listening to them and the Boot of the TR/TS makes 6x9's sound Beefy and meaning full..
My mate had a Set of boston 6x9's down the back of his parents TR only 4 Hours after his Parents had bought it and he was only 15 at the time....

How do you figure 6" beats 6x9s with no sub?
Get a good set of 6x9s and a small amp to run them and you'll be laughing.

They all have the brackets in the parcel shelf AFAIK. I've never seen one that doesnt.

The TR/TS all have holes in the back parcel shelf for 6*9s, Just some models have no speakers in the back parcel shelf so the holes are covered up by the carpet so youll have to remove the carpet and cut it to fit the 6*9s in.

If you're getting a sub, than 6" is what you want, if theres no sub, 6x9s. Simple as that, just thought I'd get that out as there were a few debates about it.
