Hey guys i want to know a friend of mine slid into the kerb in his car so the left rear side i think or was it the right, anyways i looked in my Mitsubishi workshop manual and had a look at all the components of the rear suspension.

Now im just wondering if anyone has had a similar accident in their car and had it fixed also how much did it cost.

My friend told me that the wheel was able to more side to side in the wheel arches so im pretty sure the trailing arm is most likely broken or loose. Any ideas what else would be affected by such a hit.

I would be guessing the main things that take the brunt would be the Toe control arm, lower arm, trailing arm, crossmember and maybe the knuckle and upper arm.

Thanks guys for any help

Yep same here, except me hitting a gutter, a taxi hit my rear wheel , ended up entering Chapel st (for the Melbourne ppl) sideways in my mums Magna in that incident becuase the rear left wheel was jammed with at least 45 degrees toe-out

Damage was 4K becuase of extensive panel damage, don't remember cost of suspention components alone, sorry.

Wow, I thought I was the only one that did a handbrake turn into the gutter. Mine was gentle enough to just dent the rear wheel so I didn't do anything about it. Though it does make a slight bad bearing noise when going around right hand corners (left back wheel). This happened about three years ago.

Handbrake turns from 50 or so on a big road are a great way to start a nice burnout because you travel backwards for a while. If you boot it while going back and then chuck the handbrake back on to take off slower, you smoke 'em up big time. Unfortunately the diff doesn't like it and that cost me $1700 to repair

indeed... mate in his EA falcon slid out and hit the kurb sideways... cracked the mag, bent axelshaft, shocker leaked fluid, cracked the diff housing, think needed a new diff centre (ended up with a whole new rear axel in the end anyways)... he drive it home and it left soooo much gearoil everywhere...
