Howdy all,

Anyone know a place that will compress some springs for me? I know there is the place out at Bayswater.. But they wont take the car off me to do it.

I want a place that will take the springs out of the car, compress em and stick em back in.. (that way there is a warranty and stuff)

Anyone know if such a place exists? (Payday in 14 days.. yay me)

You want a warranty for a dodgy process?

compressing springs arent dodgy unless you compress to far.

the way they compress the spring and treat it after that compress it is quite safe...but....if you are going to compress more than an inch make sure you get shortened shocks

i think those clamps are used for when removing springs......so u can compress them take them out, and uncompress them.
Then do the same when puttin them in........They arent ment to stay on your springs while u are driving your car around.....

Yeah the VR-X already has lowered springs and shocks.. Wasnt too sure how low Superlows are and if they are much lower than the VR-X.

I cant remember how far the springs on the VR-X are lowered from normal ride height.. Anyone know this? 20mm or 40mm?

Edit* Mig, getting springs compressed isnt 'dodgy' its quite legal and nothing wrong with it. Im not the type of guy to spend 40k on a car and then stick dodgy hardware in it to save a buck.

Chopping springs, or compressing them to much and not having the right shockies is dodgy..

Springs are designed to work optimally at the height they're made.

By compressing them, even a little you're compromising that.

Yeah true..

Only reason i was going to do it was i thought the superlows would be about the same ride height.. if it drops it a further 20 - 40 mm then ill just buy them.

Unfortunately I dont know what the difference is between the VRX springs and superlows

I'd dare say that the superlows would be lower.

are you guys 100% sure the sports and vrx are lower than the normal magnas? I really think there is no difference. Its just the swaybars that are changed between the cars. Only reason the vrx looks lower is because of the kit and the little s**ty plastic things they call flares shrink the guard diameter by a few cm

PS. no offence to those who like the vrx's flares... just personally dont like them

Sports and VRX have slightly lower springs than the others.. namely only 10mm difference...

Bain if you need help to get the springs out, I am happy to help, I have done a few already!,

mine are compressed superlows, I don't have a problem with them, I think that they handle pretty well! and they still take up the small bumps

The car has benefited visually and in performance since I have done it!, Spicer and Dowling in Bayswater can do your springs (If there out),

They deal in SUSPENSION only, it's not like the do this work on the side, if you are really worried about compressing, they can also fabricate a brand new set to the specifications of your choice, (height , weight and spring rate) my 2c, if you need a hand getting them out, more then happy to help, the compressing only takes half a day if you call them and organise it

Yeah the VRX and Sports got upgraded Suspension (shocks and coils) aswell as sway bars..
