Mitsu service confirmed a lot of TJ's , after 12m or so, the washer bottle gums up with crap, so much so, the water stops getting out to the washer jets. Common, because the bottles come from Japan, with water in them.. you believe that crud.. ???

guess it might have to do with importing road worthy cars perhaps. somewhere i heard that cars have to have water in the washer bottle to be worthy.
i put a cleaner/bug remover in the bottle as well probably would stop it from clogging up . also living in a city that has hard water wouldnt help having a cheap bottle of demineralised water might stop anything from happening like cloging.

Nah, its pretty common. I see it all the time at work with brand neweys from japan Algae forms in the water and blocks the gauze filter in the pump. Just pull the washer bottle and pump out and clean them. I always use a good washer additive as it prevents this algae formation :D

Thanks Steve. So, the Mitsu people who build cars like the Magna in Adelaide get their bottles sent in from Japan, with water. Mmmmm wonder if Australian Quarantine know about that one??
Thanks, I will pull the bottle and clean the gauze. Mitsu want the car for an hour, steam clean the bottle, hipressure air hose the water lines... blah blah.. reckon I could do it myself, if the gauze captured all the crud. :D

Cleaned out the bottle. Working fine now. thanks.
And to the Mitsu service guy??? don't make me laugh! CLOWN. The "imported from Japan" wiper bottle is MADE IN AUSTRALIA, tool! .. wait till I tell him.
What causes the algae would be that the bottle is v close to the exhaust and engine.. gets quite warm and stays warm for a long time, even when stopped. breeding algae. :D
Thanks again... scubasteve.
Bain.. huh! my Mitsu agent doesn't even give the engine a clean with the steam. Wallies. :)

He probably was talking about lancers and all the other models that are imported into australia as they usually come with a half full washer bottle, not the washer bottle by itself :D

I could be real generous and say that the service dude may not have heard me say Magna, when I strolled into his office... he may just have thought I meant "a Mitsubishi"... Magnas are made in Australia, yes. :D
I have reasons to dislike this fella, history. Eh Suntz? :)
