hey guys, im not sure if i posted this thread in the right place or not, so sorry if its in the wrong place.

but how do i adjust my handbrake under the handbrake handle?, being a light vehicle mechanic and all, i have adjusted the handbrake by the wheels, and have made no exception on my magna. the covering under the handbrake handle is hard to take off {so as i can screw the screw tighter, and therefore less "play" with the handbrake.... } is the casing/moulding under the handbrake ment to be hard to get off.... cos working on commodores, its quite easy. Do i just use brute force to pull open the casing/moulding and try not to break it? or is there a technique that some of you have used in the past?

thanks in advance guys,

James.

Pull out ur glove box the whole box part should come out easily (open up glove box, lift out small box with all ur junk in it.)

Should be straight forward after that

Peace

if u do this and its still not enough back it off again, its needs adjusting at the rear wheels.. :D

As this under the glove box is only a miner adjustment.. :D

the easiest way is to take out the gear stick surround, which will pop right out (and be able to be lifted out once u unscrew your gear knob). After that you will be able to see what you have to do a little more clearly. You have to take out the whole centre bit, like, from the console back. There are 2 main clips on the sides (next to side of seats) and yes it is a b*tch to get to release. Once it is though u can lift the whole part out which reveals the handbrake wires.

If its still to hard to do, take out both seats (takes 2 minutes), and that will make it real easy :)

oh and good to see you here James :)

Open centre console.

Lift out plastic bin.

Take 10mm open end spanner.

Adjust till handbrake lever goes 5 to 7 clicks.

Drop plastic bin back in.

Close lid.

Should take you longer to find a spanner than do the job.

Cheers
