just bought me a sub! its a 30cm 1,000Watt Pioneer 500RMS
http://www.insanowayno.com/Ancient%20Audio/images/Pioneer/Sub/ts-w1201c.jpg

bought it seccond hand brand new  like it has never been used but bought it off a forum.

So now i need to build me a box :D

at the moment I have my speakers running from a 250W Kenwood amp, so im thinking now of possibly running the speakers off the head unit then the sub off the amp..would this be possible? i know i wont be getting as much out of the sub as I could but could i just do this temporarily until I can buy a new amp? Also what sorta amp would i need to run it? id probably be selling my kenwood amp and buying a 4 channel one...what sorta amp should i get (not a heaps expensive one fellas  )

any help would be appreciated :D

I take it your current amp is a two channel hence why you are thinking about getting a 4ch one?

Yes, you can run your speakers off headunit, and sub off the amp (just bridge it).

If you are really really tight on budget, you can get a 4 channel, use the two front ones for front speakers, and bridge the two rear channels to power your sub.

how much are you looking to spend? if you have a bit of money to throw around, you can get two amps, one dedicated to run your sub and the other for speakers. Are your speakers stock?
