hi all,
as some of you know ive been chasing down some wheels for my baby over the last few weeks, the last tyre yard finally got back to me... they cant find any rubber to fit the rims i have lined up... can anyone explain past the obvious on "load rating" ?
The tyre yard guessed i had a load rating requirement of 95? (is that true?)
they have only found one model of tyre that will go on the rims i have lined up - 19" 275
the rubber they found was $600 a pop, ouch.
im gonna keep on searching, thoughts/comments would be great thanks

as a some one in the know i would say **** the load rating, if i were at work i would say differently but u get what im saying.
basically, anything 9 or wider is gonna end u in trouble but as long as u be good boy u wont have any trouble from the boys in blue.
i would reccomend 19x8 but u seem keen on the 9.5 idea so maybe push the 9 as max cos other wise its just over the top.
tyre wise i will look tomorrow, but i would deffinately say u can get cheaper, that is if u want cheaper, there is gonna be a lower in quality for obvious reasons but i would say u 'might' be able to get a hankook or something for cheaper.
and i dont think i wanna hear the price per wheel of the konigs, i mean i sold some wrx rims at 18x7.5 the other day for 250 a peice, so really, in my opinion if it were me i would be going 18x8's so it would be cheaper for rims (alot) and alot lot cheaper tyres and a bigger range.
but thats all just me.

load rating is 94... FAR overated for the magnas.... havin the same problems at the moment..
f*ckers...
can get 19x8" no worris, but will be a taller tyre therefore have to re calibrate teh speedo...
ah well
Good luck trying to fit 9.5" tyres under the rear guards..
Hope it works.. But a pretty useless/expensive mod just for looks..

question we've all overlooked why do you need wider tyres on the back of a fwd
seems pretty pointless
FYI: have a look on the pillar inside on the drivers side it has the load rating there (95)

so what do the other magna owners with 19"s use?
are they legal? are the tyres load ratings correct?
what sizes are the rims? 19x__"?
Arcane

why super wide ones on the back?
for asethetics ofcourse, duh
the dish on the konig unknowns @ 9.5" is mad
i think the tyre place said my rating was 95? yours is 94??

OK... I think you are looking at the same rims I have, in the same size. 19 x 8" front, 19 x 9.5" rear. 245/35/19 all round. They fit with some cutting required on the plastic guard extensions(on the ralliart at least not sure bout a VRX). I am running Toyo Proxy4's, load rating of 93, as far as I am concerned that's what is on my placecard and I don't want anyone to tell me otherwise!
You won't be able to run any wider than 245's on the back with these as the upper control arm has marginal clearance at best.
Goodluck...

load rating for teh ralliart is 94 (vrx MAY be different, but i doubt it)...
if you have 93.. insurance will tell you to :gtfo: if you try to claim ;)

So youre running a tyre 1 inch smaller than the mag wheel..
God some people do stupid things to make a car look cool..
You have noticed that the tyres on the front are what your rears should look like.. Not stretched out like a foreskin..

Tiz the price you pay to fill the guards... I'd be running 275's if it wasn't for the control arm.

Id love to see you handle that car if you took a corner to hard and went down onto the rim...
Thankfully god gave me a brain and all the needed parts to use it..
Arcane, if youre after a deepdish rim, try these.. They are the deepest dish rim youll find and you dont need to go overly stupid to get it.

It's more than OK to fit 245/35 tyres to a 9.5" rim, check the tyre specs. I think I have more than tested this setup on the track to know they ain't comin off!

Yeah, apart from the fact the side wall of the tyre isnt designed to be stretched out like you have it on your tyre..

So that's why the tyre manufacturers quote the applicable rim sizes for 245/35/19’s as being between 8" and 9.5" wide?

TH onwards are 94. In their wisdom mitsu rated TE/TF with 95.

depends some TH-TJ have 95 still, yet the weightier cars have less
my TF has 95, and is really annoying trying to find tyres to match, goddam i hate mitsu for that

Just checked it out. My apologies mate.
I guess the silica range plus technology has changed a little. You never used to beable to run a thinner tyre as the sidewalls would crack/mash the steel fibres up and tear the tyre apart.

No hard feelings man. I was defending running 235/45's on 7" rims a while ago but I was wrong there (after 3 years of running em  )

for anyone looking for a good tyre for a 18" rim on a magna, i'm using the Toyo Tranpath SW series, which is a nice multi-directional tyre with 235/40ZR18 95W... perfect for every magna owner :D not too expensive either (about $200 each)
