Hi all,

Now i would like some advice. NO ARGUEMENT'S THIS TIME PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!! or i will delete this thread myself, to save Admin the trouble!!!!!!!!!

I'm thinking down the track of getting a Lukey 2 1/2" Full exhaust system, Greddy e-mangae ECU, lowering the car with new suspension, 17" Rim & Tyre package, K&N High Flow Air Filter, 4 new disc rotor's & brake pad's and caliper's.

That's for starter's.

Now i know a bit about car's my dad use to do MotorCarner in the 70's has replaced gearbox's, engine's, diff's by himself (The list go's on).

Now what should i do first.

I'm thinking of Exhaust, then Suspension &/or Tire and Rim package, then K&N Air Filter, then Greddy e-manage and then rotor's and brakes.

Luke

P.S. I know this is alot of money to spend on a car (well an old car), but this is a first car i want to live my teenage do up everything yrs before i have a mid life crisis and that is 20 yrs away. But i find time flies faster than i expected. SO PLEASE DON'T HINDER, JUST ADVISE!!!

cant argue on what your doing... sounds good!!
go for the exhaust system first then air filter... then the emanage... that way you just tune it once....

then go ahead with the suspensions and mags...\

if brakes really need doing first, then do that....

best of luck with the mods!! :D :D

just remember to post pics after your done!!!

IMO the rotors on the first gens just arent enough to make you feel 100% safe if you REALLY wanna stop.

for a lil extra and alot more safety i'd recomend DBA slotted rotors. fronts mainly, as rears dont make a great diff, but if your replacing all 4, you may as well.
as for pads, Lucas 4x4 pads ive found to be exceptional.
thats my experience and recomendations.

btw, tho u havent mentioned im sure you meant to, but extractors are a top upgrade!
and yes 2.25" is perfect for it.

the lower you go, the less ride comfort. ive found 1' drop to be quite good, my tyres are under the guard with them, and i have 15" 205x65 tyres.
as for ure eFI stuff, i dont touch that so someone else can fill ya in.

but thats my advice for ya :D

Hi all,

The reason why i didn't put the suggestion of extractors in is cause my premium will sky rocket the insurance company said as an example.

I said to them that i would be modifing the car, but not performance wise. They said as an example if i was to, with exhaust extractors either my excess or premium would go up another $100.

So i don't want too just yet, BUT i'll keep it in mind.

i dont know if its legal but when notifying my insurance company my extractors are included in my exhaust, do the emanage last, do a cold air intake as well, cheap as **** but good gains...
dpeneds what you like, there's performance, ice and rice, do your favourite first

your insurance premium will already sky rocket as soon as you lower it, they consider upgraded suspension a performance modification and therefore charge $$$ so i would go the extractors as well :D

im with just cars and i got a "Unlimited modification policy" but im on the more extreme side of these mods. As far as i know if ur third party and u put in a claim you dont have to have ur car assessed. so u can have watever you like... Well thats what i heard anyway

I wouldn't suggest using the greddy or any piggy back ecu on the older TN - TR/TS series vehicles if you are seriously looking at modifying.

The older mitsubishi computers do have issues especially the 1990 - 1993 model ones with burning themselves out and having idling issues etc. This is especially commen in the galant and lancer series.

We in the last 12 months have had 3 TR models alone which had greddy systems or nothing at all, only to find that at some point the stock computer dies and the cost of replacing the stock computer ends up being quite expensive.

I guess what I am saying is that hold off till the last moment and then when you are ready take teh plunge and go for a haltech full ecu package or equivelent cause its far cheaper in the long run.
