I'm thinking of having some work done to my KR, do these sound like reasonable prices?

New Gearbox - $1050 exchange

New Engine - $~3000 exchange

New Front Rotors (DBA Model 425) $150 pair

New Front Shocks (Monroe GT Gas) - Haven't got a quote yet, anyone got a rough idea?

So far I've put in new headlights (4000k Xenons), new deck (Pioneer), K&N Panel, 8mm leads (transferring these to the new engine), rebadged the tailgate, had the radiator rebuilt (it blew on parra rd...)

I'll put up some pics when I can get the car in some good sun, and give everyone a good look at her

Cheers
Andy

if you have your heart set do it, parts will get cheaper round october' when the 380 comes out, but, so will the 3rd gens

personally if u wanna do it *** go mate. umm im presuming your doing the "killbilly" engine swap-a-roo. i cant remember the name of the engine, i just know hes done it:P

True, the thing is, the KR suits my needs perfectly and I can't get more than $500 for it in it's current state, the engine is only tentative at the moment anyway... I find the Gen 3 a little too commonplace, not to sound negative, but I see quite a few of them around and not so many Gen 2s anymore... anyways

Where can I get a 3L MIVEC from? Wrecker?

*I was originally thinking a DOHC, but the modding sounds like a pain...*

im pretty sure this is KB's engine, it came from the 3000gt (gto).. having sed that from memory the MIVEC 3L DOHC engine wont fit without custom engine mounts, whereas the 3000gt engine does, in addition to that there is a 3.5L DOHC engine that will fit (from memory) into the 2nd gens (this is my choice of engine :D) and i think nicem8 has one that hes gonna fit in his car

was being a smartass there obvioulsy, BUT, in his case hes gonna blow enough money on his car to buy a 3rd gen, of considerably higher quality.

way i see it is if your gonna sell the car soon, or dont think the end product will be good, dont do it.

so he said hes pretty much set on that car, and hey, who isnt set on there car?

so like IMHO id say buddy spend the money if you think for the 5 odd thou your gonna spend, is it worth it, id say yes obvioulsy, cause i like 2nd gens :P

AND he said he'd only get $500 for it anyway, so he's have to spend the same amount to get a 3rd gen anyway

i think what i just wrote made no sense, i hope you get the jist of it
