Has anyone bought a new gearstick boot thingy? (the leather part that wraps the stick)

Do the cheap nasty ones autobarn sell fit??

Just about anything will probably fit.. it's a doddle to remove the transmission part of the console to check sizing though.

I've replaced mine with one I made myself from some upholstery leather.. (well actually I cut it out and my mother sewed it together :redface: ). I did this because the mistu faux-leather boot is poo and deteriorated in about 12 months.

$22 from mitsu. remarkably cheap! I nearly fainted when i heard the price. Knowing mitsubishi i was expecting $100.

takes literally 3 minutes to change. unclip the gearstick surround, unscrew the old boot, screw in the new one. Looks better than anything i could find in autobahn/supercheap and cheaper too :)

go to motorquipe... can get a decent leather one like mine for like 50-70 bucks dude

well mine was screwed b4 i replaced it too, all leather had come off. after 7 years you would think it would be screwed. I was surprised at how sturdy the new one felt actually....

some of the ones you get from repco etc don't fit (not wide enough at the bottom, i just peal'd the skin off my dead one and put it back on, but now i know mitza sell them so cheap i'll get a newy, dam i was thinkin like $60+
