Okai checked the oil today and it was very low, so few questions for when i put in new oil.
What oil should i use? i have no idea whats in their at the moment because its been in their since i brought the car.
Do i just add a bit at a time checking the stick to make sure i dont go over?
Also you know the other stick (excuse my ignorance) the one thats got "Change at hot" on it.
What is it? and are you suppose to check this one while the car is cold or hot? and if it needs changing what do i do, thanks.
the other stick sounds like your automatic trans stick... you need to check that after you'ce taken the car for a drive (so it's hot) and when the car is running (put it in neutral) otherwise it looks like the fluid is overfilled
how many k's your car done? if it's done lots without a rebuild, then you should probably go for a thicker oil to shut up the rattly timing chain, oil getting past worn stem seals, etc...

yeah i checked the auto stick just after i got back from a drive so the engine was hot.
It was in park but, ill give it another check with it in N and see if it makes a dif, but it was at hot and as the stick says "change at hot" so how do i change it/refill or whatever i gotta do with it.
My bro has a tx5 that loses alot of oil so hes got some thick stuff oil he uses, would it be safe just to put this in and mix it with whatevers left in there?
A general rule of thumb is that there is one (1) litre between the low and high marks on your engine oil dipstick. In other words, if the oil is up to the low mark add 1 litre of oil and it will be at the top mark (once it's drained down of course).

.. What oil should i use? ..
Wouldn't mind knowing this as well.. like an actual oil type/number/whateveryoucallit that I can buy.. just got my TR need to buy some oil for it tomorrow.
I use a 10W-30 but I'm in Christchurch NZ where it will (is ) freeze(ing) in the Winter. If you are in a warmer part of Oz (like Qld) I would suggest a 20W-50.
