Hi all, well on my 2004 TL i have noticed that when taking sharp bends to the right with the fuel tank at about 1/3 or lower, the car starvs of fuel for a minute and the picks up again. Right turns are worse the Left.

Is this common? if so why, this sux and i want mitsubishi to fix it.

I don't know if I can help you. I have an AWD and I think the fule tank setup is different between these models, sedans and wagons.

However I have not noticed this problem. It is either the fuel pickup or fuel delivery. At fuel pickup you would probably have more extreme problems if you were picking up air instead of fuel.

On the delivery side it may be due to a faulty FPR or problems with the fuel rail?

I am not an engineer or a mechanic so I am only guessing

I think a few ppl have experienced this, even in TE/TF's.

Personally, I've experienced this only once. took a sharp corner really fast, and the car felt like it was gonna stall for a few seconds, idle was all choppy etc.

i think an upgraded FPR fixed teh problem

Yes mate it is a known problem on the TE-TL non AWD's when the tank gets below half full to get fuel surge. They fixed it in the ralliart magna by redesigning the fuel resevior/pickup inside the fuel tank.

I Had to replace my tank due to hitting a rock on the road, so when i did it i bought a ralliart tank.

Actually its a comme problem on the magnas cause the fuel surge tank setup in the tank was not setup properly from teh factory. They to my knowledge altered the ralliart models with extra baffling in the petrol tank to combat this but I don't know if it has been done to all other models at some point.

I have not had this problem in my TJ model but others have I think.

Unfortunatly a FPR unit won't rectify it - its a pickup problem at the tank itself.

Solution - Don't go round corners hard under 1/2 tank.

Well i'm going get the Service dep to look at it. I think it's bull and they should do something about it. I will keep onto them untill they do something.

As to slowing down, well that would be too sinple. LOL
