i know this is magna mods just thought some of you would like to know what i have just had done to my evo 8 it went in on thursday got it back today for the weekend then it goes back in on monday

i sarted with getting
apexi gt spec exhaust cat back $1050
apexi power fc $1300
k@n panel filter $150

but then thought why not get the front pipe too
apexi front pipe gt spec $590

so i said well if im doing that why not the cat too
magnaflow high flow cat 3" $227

but then if im doing that i'll need this
apexi boost contral kit $650
tomei bov replumb type $285
apexi turbo timer $150

so i got all the stuff put in yesterday and tunned today for fitting all the stuff it cost $380 then $500 for tunning but after all that when tunning the car when it got up to 190kw atw the fuel pump could not keep up so now a new fuel pump will be put in on monday and wow there not cheep $680
but as my evo is the first 8 to have an apexi power fc and they needed a test car to set up maps im getting the monday tunning for free
we are going for 210kw atw
i will let you all know how it goes

i know a guy in adelaide he is aiming for 300kw's atws in his evo8 said he is looking to do 10/9's :O........ getting an engine transplant soon but he wont tell me what it is dammit!

Very nice job.. love the evo's.. just a -bit- beyond my pricerange.. would need to sell a bit more than just my TR to get one :D

What other engine do you transplant into an Evo 8? Other than a 4g63 or a 4g63 or maybe even a 4g63 ? What's wrong with the current 4g63 ? Is this new 4g63 he is transplating stronger than the standard 4g63 ? is he lloking for another 4g63 cause there are plenty around. Im curious :bowrofl:

Im interested in what hed be transplanting too...

I mean i cant see a 6cyl fitting in there.

The only thing i can think of is the MIVEC 4g63 from the evoIX + maybe a kit to increase capacity.

insurance with just car with all the mods $1550 not bad i think just remember im over 30 and have rating 1 for 10 years

Nope, Its a secret. Im not telling til its finished ;-)

But yes i am going for well over 300 at the wheels. _stonesour_ is spot on :-)

So far im up to 235 at the wheels, and the turbo is now the bottle neck. But the new motor and a turbo kit will fix that.

got my first dyno sheet today
the tunners were setting up maps for there computer and the dyno **** its self so they put the best map they had so far and gave the car back to me till they get it fixed
the car now come's on boost faster and is just faster all up
the bov sounds good even though its a replumb with 1.4 bar running through it you can hear it well
the car is 186.8 at the moment till the dyno is fixed and it goes back in for a better tune

they run 1.2 bar stock thats about 18psi not bad i think

If it burns to the ground, you get a pay out and start over.. So you can start the cycle all over again.

All my mods will be insured, to ensure something like what happened to you Ben, doesnt happen to me..

i went out last night and was getting a funny noise like a little cracking and the engine light was flashing very fast rang the tunner today and he said dont drive an more get it to them asap as that sound is detanation and if i drive it in turbo the motor will go bye bye

What a bugger!!! I assume you got those rear windows sorted? what was causing that issue?

it was a fuse behind the door panel
and got the suby fix it was a fulty one so they replaced it now pumps big time it hurts your chest now

Well I am no electrician but I said it was probably a fuse... it is a shame they didn't somehow wire the fuse into the fuse box... oh well, at least it's fixed... i hope they found the cause for the tripped fuse or put a more suitable fuse in etc.

It is just going through a few teething issues... You should start charging for Evo rides and make a little wager on the side lol... looking forward to seeing it in action :badgrin:

Surely when they were running it on the dyno they would have seen the engine leaning out?

i found out what was doing it today
when i was taking it back to them i had to get fuel so i went to bp and filled up with 98 octane as i all way do driving out it was like i got in the wrong car so much better so i gave it soom for a second or 2 and not a thing it was perfect
so it was bad fuel making every thing **** up
but its back in there any way so there going for more kw

Maybe you could first do an advanced driving course, one that is on a track. Then see from there with other clubs or get a CAMS license and go on open days, not sure what they have in Vic.

Different clubs have days at heathcote park in victoria for example. e-series.com.au ford club has days there, im sure a few of them would love to beat your evo. :p

Equation is Kw divide by Mass ( in Tons )

110kw / 1.437 tons = 76.5kw per ton

140kw / 1.437 tons = 97.4kw per ton 1400kg i think

and that 140kw figure for your car is at the fly.. not the wheels. at most u'd have 105-110kw atw

Power to weight ratios are usually presented in Kg per Kw - IE your car is 10.26Kg per Kw.

i just got some new mods done
i had an apexi power fc that was making the car missfire so thats gone now and stock ecu put back in with a new boost controler and a air fuel controler with a set of extractors and a pod filter with cai in a alloy box with carbunfibre lid
and today i got hks cam gears lower srings front and rear sway bars and a rear strutbrace then tomorrow it gets a retune i was told i should get 225kw atw and around 590nm so when i go to phillip island in december this thing should fly around it
all most forgot i got semi slicks too and wow do they stick to the road

get one fully imported with bout 90,000k's on the clock for around $10-12k, and add on from there. sure it doesnt look as hot as an evo, but isnt that whats good, ppl thinking ur car is a pos and then u kick their ass? ;)

both run a 4G63T so i would think both were just as capable of those sort of power outputs... just the galant would be doing it alot cheaper...like 1/5th the price!

in the evo club im in there are some vr4's some with more mods than me even tho they are the same motor there not. with all the tech now a days the new motors are a lot better then the old ones you would have to spent a lot of money on mods just to = a new evo
