yeah definatly looks better black , silver is not enough contrast
get some matt black paint if u can, easier on the eyes
or take it to modicoat and woodgrain or carbon fibre it

Paint it pink with purple poka dots just to piss her off lol... nah it looks good from the pics... matt black would be a little less annoying on the eye but tis okay
I should find out how much the clear front shield is to buy... mine is a bit aged now... makes the dials look that much better when brand new.

hey guys where did you get ya power for the gauges from. i cant get to my cig lighter due to the fact that if i remove my panel from around the cd player i wont be able to get it back in. and its impossible to get to from uner the dash on the drivers side. its a te altera not that much changed under there from the years(to my knowledge) any help'd be great
thanx

grab hold of your ciggerete lighter area and yank that whole part out, thats the first step of console removal, grab hold and give it a good pull and it should just come out, from there you will notice a plug
unplug it, take your keys outta the ignition splice the shielding off the positive wire ( pretty sure its blue but dont trust me use a multimeter ) and solder your red wire from the inverter onto this, then wrap with electrical tape, do the same with the negative wire, DO NOT JUST WRAP THE WIRES TOGETHER, SOLDER THEM MAKING SURE YOU HAVE A SOLID CONNECTION THEN THUROUGHLY COVER WITH ELECTRICAL TAPE, DODGY WIRING MAY START A FIRE.
they cable tye or tape with GAFFA your inverter somewhere so it does rattle around,
check it all works first then.
Put it all together and your sweet.

ive tried to bypass the switch but no luck i have it hooked up to the dash lights and i still have to turn them on manually but they turn of when i turn head lights off and when i turn the dimmer down they turn off not dim like the rest of the lights they must need a certain curent running through them and you cant reduce them.thats just what ive come across.

yeah the inverter needs a certain current to keep in ticking over, or "Buzzing"
did u just place the dials that have a needle hole straight over the existing face plates ?
i couldnt figure out how to get the needle off to get the plates of.

yeah straight over lol are u talking about what the speedo needle rest on when car is off ?
if so it clips straight into the original face the new dials hole is too big for it.
as for the speedo needle ect just pull on it in the centre (black part and it comes off).
