Well as has been on the agenda for quite some time, I've been looking to replace my previously crappy Cadence tweeters that i was using as ambient tweets to complement the morels and give a bit more stage height.

I ended up going all out and getting a a set of Dynaudio MD100's. As featured in the 2 and 3 way Dynaudio setups.

First off take notice of the size of these babies... They are massive! (28mm) And very heavy as well.
I quickly knocked up a bracket for them last night (mounted in the kicks again) and wired them up. They extend down very low for tweets - with a fs of 1360 hz.
Also handle all the power I have to give them with great detail and warmth.

I've moved the Morels up to ambients, which was a bit of a struggle getting them to fit in the same holders, but after a bit of modding got them in.

Absolutely love these Dyn's. Cant recommend Dynaudio and Morel more highly.

Still require a lot of tweaking, but for now Im a happy man.

Peace

Tim

Good work tim, its good to see someone get excited over a speaker other than a subwoofer. Any reason why you choose these babies? Has your SQ improved since adding them in?

lol true... :shifty:

Had a few options for >2khz... Was initially looking at a set of Morel Supremos

But a good deal that I had on a pair fell through.

Was also thinking about getting some Horns (HLCDs) in but would have required too much interior modding to fit them in under the Magna Dash, (Also worried me that the dash wasnt flat underneath. (Still something I think I'll do eventually lol)

So eventually settled on the MD100

Heard a few of these in some top cars and was really impressed. Their response is quite flat which is just what Im looking for.

So for now, Im on the hunt for a new deck with time alignment, decent EQ and iPod connectivity. Probably looking at Alpine. But we will see.

Then I want to make some pods for my mids, to get them on axis a bit more.

Wallet empty, but ears are happy :)

Peace

Tim

Tim likes his High end Car audio....
I am more of your " Mainstream guy" who only hates Kenwood....

Sweet purchase on the Dynaudio's with the price you paid for them, they should be very very good....

phwar, how did i miss this? hehe

they're running off the soundstream aren't they?......i wouldn't mind having a warm sounding tweeter myself :( mine are just too harsh.

the supremos look soo blingy, but u risk ur friends poking the tweeter with a pen. congrats....back to 2min noodles again eh?lol

Nar all my tweets (ambients and mains) running off the alpine MRV-405 so 45w rms per tweeter.

Soundstream running mids and subs.

Other soundstream still sitting in my room gathering dust coz im lazy...

Should give some real power to the subs and bridge the 4 channel into both. But meh... My mids/doors cant keep up with the subs and tweets as it is.

Peace
