Sorry guys.... i dont understand amps at all... but i bought two JL audio subs which run at 150w each. Can i run them off a 400 w monoblock? Or does that give them too much power? Will i blow them up?

Nope more power the better.

Means you will play through their full power range without putting any strain on ur amplifier which is just what you want.

To ensure they dont get too much power set the gains properly.
Play some bassy songs. playing just the sub set the gains to minimum, headunit to max volume without distortion. Slowly increase the gains until the sub begins to distort, dial it back until just before this point.

Now you can never hurt ur subs.
