Has anyone rubbed the bottom of their sump off before? I have a heap of little holes in the bottom sump forming.

Anyone had to replace a sump before?
What kind of price would i have to pay for a new sump?

one of my mates smashed his once before, that was costly (i think the sump is 2-piece?)


how have u gotten lots of little holes in it? is it leaking?

i was gonna go to a welder and get them to patch it up and and a bit more think ness to it, to prevent it from happening agian (delay it).

your in luck I have smashed it b4...
basically the sump is two piece....the bottom part (black & has the drain bolt) is tin and cost me about $30 (brand new)
the top part is aluminium and cost sh*t loads...(very hard to damage anyway)
so I just un-bolted the tin part (lower sump), added the correct sealant (permatex i think) (be carefull not to overtighten the bolts as the upper sump is aluminium and therefore very soft) and your done... :badgrin:

i'm guessing thats what my mate did! go fast enough over a train line with reeealy compressed springs can do damage

MY dad was heading past the wreckers today so i gave him $30 and told him they were thirty new. He is going to pas that info on to the wrecker when he picks it up :D

I've cracked the seal on my sump before. Didn't notice the oil was going, until it runs dry whilst we're in Forrest. (MM04 Beta cruise, GOR)

I had a GE sigma (astron 1800) seize on me doing 60kph becasue i ran it with out oil.


Lesson learned for me.
