Hey guys spent some of today trying to get rid of my boot rattle with no avail.
Stupid boot rattles like crazy.
I took apart the whole 2nd piece of the boot and attached lots of rubber pads to anywhere where there was metal to plastic contact.
Ill post up some pics of my work just now.
I have traced most of the rattle to the locking mechanism and some of the cables that are inside the boot, though i think the rattle may be due to the boot vibrating against the seals or something else.

I assume you put something in behind the number plate?
Also removing those awful plastic number plate surrounds helps!

yep the number plate rattle was removed a while ago
also the rattle continued even when i put my weight against the back of the boot incase something was still making contact and rattle still didnt go away.

Sound-deaden the entire boot, bootlid, under the carpet, spare-wheel well, it'll cost about $200+ for Stinger's Trunk Kit, 20sq feet (i think)..and just cut sick one weekend with it. Great stuff

i done my boot with dynamat ... cost nearly $700 to do the boot ... i was pretty generous putting it in ... still got rattles though
well, yeah, you'd still get rattles after u sd your boot. things like boot lock mechanism, the hook and clip thing, tailight, parcel shelf, cables etc will still make noise.
you can never sd enuf really

true that just got a dynamat extreme boot kit and had all my boot done and there are still rattles, tho i have to say they are not as bad as what i thought. I might have to get some of the cheap jaycar stuff and just go over it.
