my buying process has snagged!

Report by Sydney Vehicle Pre- Purchase inspections.

"Engine oil leaks visible over complete engine (not that I saw)
rocker covers cylinder heads, sump, rear main. "

I am hoping it was a filling accident.

the question is, I can replace most seals etc when doing the timing belt, at 95000 , , currently at 91,000.

How much can I expect to pay for this MAJOR service.

walk away from it mate would be my advice. Plenty of other fish in the sea. To get the cam belt and all engine seals to be done your looking at well over 1k at most mechanics. Its not worth it.. try and find something else

thanks man

I would if I could...well i could but I'm going to persevere.
the guys dropped his price by $400 for me, sort of meeting me half way.
I can see what the probs are and can get em fixed , not covered up.
and land my whale for still $1000 to $1500 under what I expected to pay for the same car with more kmseven after the repairs. :)
It's log books are good up to 80,000 kms

Oil leaks are messy but don't really affect performance, just check oil levels regularly.

Just steamclean the sucker before your roadworthy inspection/s. lol

the cars 5-6 years old it should be leaking oil
but i reckon the inspection guy has over stated the problem.
I'm getting an oil change an steam clean next week to monitor the extent of the probs over the next 2-3 months leading up to the big timing belt job.
