hey guys own a KR EI and want to upgrade the aircon to cliamte control, i saw in the hand book that the XI's have it, how hard will it be to fit it? going out to pick and payless on friday to check it out and hopefully buy one!

also kinda interested in this one, cept it'll be going into a tr.

Might be complicated. Apparently it has a solar sensor on the dash, and another thermostat in the cabbin on the roof near the interior light. Im currently looking for a new thermostat. mine broke and Imlachs never got back to me.

thats all right then, there is no computer module or something i need to get also? im thinking i should just buy an XI but thing is i know my cars been maintained since day one properly (used to be me dads) and has had a recon auto recently. but i do like the idea of height adjustable suspension, parabolics and abs, also the graphic equaliser headunit with its line input, im pissed off i brought my sony head unit when i could of just gotten an XI headunit for 20 bucks and run a cd or mp3 player to it!

The original Tape/CD in my Xi doesn't have line inputs nor RCA outputs.

in the owners handbook it does show a line input... never said anything about RCA out puts, any quality installer can splice amps and hi/lo pass filters into the stock head units original outputs.

You're probably looking at KRs. I'm referring to KS.

Also re splicing etc etc, forget it, the sound quality will be worse than using an FM modulator. The only line input it has for the main unit is a proprietary DIN plug that hooks up to the factory CD player.

yeah its just i like a stock look, the only other ones id liek to put in would be a namackchi, but they are pretty high in price, but i would get one if i was going all out on audio. and yes i have been looking at the KR.

Jolly Rogers has a few XI's, you can get the complete unit from it, you will need heater and fan boxes, wiring, dash panels, the climate control facia (i got the last one I know of from there), the wiring.

The dash will have to come out also.
