hey guys, a friend of mine wants to know this:

Hes got a alpine V12 Monoblock currently running 2 fusion 12" powerplant 900W subs. The subs are running at 2 ohm with the amp at 600W rms. What i was considering is configuring the subs to run at 1ohm. Would this cause any problems with clipping or could it damage the amp?

Is the amp stable at 1 ohm loads?

If so, go for it?

If not, you may be able to do this, but ur amp will most likely go into protection, and it will eventually damage ur amp loading it down this low.

And what are the voice coil configs of the subs? because I dont think you'll be able to get them to a 1 ohm load if they run at 2 ohm.

I assume they are dual 2 ohm or SVC 4 ohm.

If dual 2 ohm, they can go 0.5 or 2. If SVC 4 they can go 8 or 2.
