I know this has been mentioned in other sections, but i reckon we should make a few general sticky threads on upgrades for our cars.
good upgrades for people that still have a stock car.
i know the all famous exhaust questions has been asked many a times, and we often find ourself repeating and debating.
i seriously reckon we could have a few succesful sticky's for example.
Astron II engine mods. (strengthening, forced induction, exhaust)
Carburettor mods (webers, holleys, seized solex secondaries, running rich, running lean)
EFI mods (I really dont know, im not EFI, but filters, TB's, intakes, injectors, ecu's)
Transmission, (auto mods. converting, auto to manual, etc.)
Brakes and suspension mods (duh)
and Misc mods. (interior, weight reduction, radiator, water pumps. etc)
This would save a lot of reposting and searching for the answer when there can be a contributory thread for it.
I'm saying this in here because this is the first Gen section, where its needed, and i know some peeps only look here.
so cast your vote. and if theres enough interest, we may as well create them.
Prob be good to have as much info in 1 post as not to have 10,000 posts to read b4 someone decides on a mod.
i know the carb to efi thread is there and is quite helpful. so stuff like that.
BTW the reason i say seperate threads is becoz noobz, no offense, will not think to look or be bothered reading thru pages of posts, to find what there after. its easier to have them delegated per thread.

whats your plan with this, if everyone votes yes?
like, you gonna list it as
mods in each area, like Breathing Mods; etc
or more like, Easy n Budget Mods; Medium Cost Mods; ****ing Expensive Mods....

well i'm up for better titles. and the titles can always be renamed by mods later.
but generally the titles i have there, with whats in each for the subtitle are to be it
what my thoughts are
is if 1 person starts this thread, once everything is figured out.
and post as much information as possible. then that thread becomes stickied,.
from there people can add to the thread with either corrections or further enhancements,
eg:- astron boy: stage 2 cam is the max u can go
terrosidic: correction, stage 3 is.
this is just an example.
so the original poster would be required to edit there post. restating that stage 3 is the top and for the contributory purpose. whoeever corrected it
so astron boy
blah blah
stage 3 cam is the max u can go (corrected by terrosidic) or added by terrosidic would be put in.
the post correcting this would be removed to save extra reading.
why i have thought of it this way, is to reduce the amount of reading per thread.
its abit of work for the original poster. so if ure not up for it, dont start it.
as i said i'm up for ideas. i just thought this may help alot for everyone and save repetitiveness and conflict. if its proven or exceeded.
post it and it gets updated.
edit: if enough interest is shown towards this. and final judgements are made for topic names and what not else.
this thread can then be used as a way of informing others of what thread is being made.
so if we decide tomorrow, that yes we will do it.
someone post up they are creating an astron 2 thread, this way no-one else starts it and makes doubles. coz thats silly. we want some kind of organisation.
just lets not take a week or 2 to make it. if it does exceed what people think to be to long, post up if ure gonna do it, and get it on here faster.

hehe, so is that an offer to do the Astron II thread?
lol
on another thought prob good is carby and efi was in 1 thread and just make it Fuel System thread.

wouldnt mind knowing what the downside is for someone to have said no.
edit: ok, i suppose more people may get a better idea of it if i'm now specific, since interest is shown. i'll type out what I think to be threads with there content.
Feel free to add or alter or suggest completely different ones. I'm merely trying to give people a better idea.
so: (I may forget some things off them.)
Astron II: Boering, Pistons, Cams, Valves, Head, Gaskets, Timing, Engine mounts./ Exhaust systems. (the exhaust is small so may as well be included with the engine as its not greatly detailed an issue)
Fuel Systems/ Carby, EFI: Different carbs, Solex repairs, Intakes, Jetting and general setup (FPR's) EFI Throttle Bodies, intakes, AFM troubleshoot, Os sensor, ECU, Injectors.
Driveline: Automatic mod, troubleshooting, fluid, Torque converter / Manual Trans, synchros, gear ratios, shifter stick mod, clutch, flywheel, fluid./ Differential, CVs + Driveshafts, steering arm, power steering./ Brakes, suspension.
Electrical: Wiring looms, Auto, manual, EFI, carby, (body, if your game)
Miscs: (could do with a better name) cooling system, AC, weight reduction, general sedan glitches, general wagon glitches.
Body: panel swaps, rust removal, installation, dismantling, repair, general maintanence.
Forced induction: ud have to be game, and do a 2nd reply to the astron thread.
Phew, im sure ive missed something. after looking at that there does seem like small and large section, but for those who know, the small section also have alot of detail. so they are pretty equal.
a thought came to mind of perhaps at first having them as seperate unfinished threads, and then once they seem pretty defined and neat, that they can become 1 thread with diff replies, handling the diff topics. does make it look abit neater, but also abit slower to find the answer quicker. but we havent even started to consider.
if people want to show interest in making a thread, we'd have a better idea where we're going. :D

wouldve thought it was straight forward.
either you end up doing all the work for nothing, since no one will care.
or
we end up continuing to spam the same questions
:P

well if no-one shows a great deal of interest in being the thread starter, which i must admit involves a fair bit of work. like even I wouldnt mind doing as much as i could, people replying, and i simply add it like mentioned. *shrug* i can add as much as i know, but everyone has a limit. it'd still be contributory, and help alot of people, hell even old members could look at the troubleshoots and may find an answer without posting....
