Just found out today that the muffler and exhaust on my TE are stuffed. Mitsu have said $409 fitted. Would it cost me much more to go for a chrome muffler and exhaust tip ?

that sounds rather bulshit to me. how much are they replacing. you are probably better off going to an exaust specialist .

it will actually cost you less that 400
I got the lukey muffler fitted (the muffler that is recommended for highest flow) will a very nice tip for $260. Shop around, for $400 you can get a good muffler (so u will have more power :D ) and a very aggressive tip.

What a rip $409 for standard muffler and tip!

That price is rediculous. My local Mitsu dealer only wanted around half of that to chuck a sports muffler on. Find out if you've damanged just the muffler or the piping up to the cat. Either way i'd get an exhaust specialist to check it out. Theyd do it for a lot cheaper.

I've got a turbosmart muffler (3" internal, 4" tip (before anyone asks if a large muffler creates any loss in power i can tell you it doesnt because its at the end of the piping). Was supplied for 300 and fitted for 80 (including the fabrication of a flange for the piping)

Whereabouts gami? seems pretty cheap! i need at least a 3.5" or 4" to fill that VRX hole in the back bar!! you've seen it!

Get a second opinion on the state of the exhaust. The Lukey bolt on muffler costs $150- $170 with out the tip and you can fit it yourself. Get a tip from an exhaust mob. As for the exhaust piping. Unless you've been doing rail grinds down handrails with the Magna, I don't know why yours would be stuffed already.

Yea, I've had a couple of different places look at it and they have told me
1. The rear muffler has a *%&$ massive hole in the front of it :(
2. The exhaust piping has a big crack running down it :(

Invest a lil extra get the full system done also.. try and look around for a coating of some sort that'll save you from further damage by oxidisation.

i payed 240 for a sports tuned muffler Genuin mitsubi one...
and i fited it my self..
so they are probably charging u
muffler
plus piping...
then the working houres...
i can see why they wat 200..
if i were u i would get a cheap cannon for 100 second had or what ever..
and get the piping done...
or cut ya old one up and use the piping and weld the cannon on the enD!!

wat car is it for?
the TE?
can i have your old piping.. i would really love that!! as i am in despreate need of the stock TE piping...
where u live?
