ok did a search only found 1 thread on it, didnt help much.

Im considering of doing this myself but need more advice.
Ive read up a few articles, and understand the basics of this process.

The last time is was flushed was about 7 months ago. Im not saying my radiator is clogged up, but thought i might do it for experience sake, wont hurt to flush it anyways.

Before i go ahead, is there any major things i should be concerned about? anything i shouldnt be doing?

Pretty much im gunna take the radiator out, disconnect the top and bottom hoses, let the drain, put it back in place, then put coolent into the little coolent box,... let the engine run for awhile, if the coolent needs topping up ill do so, then take it for a drive, and keep an eye on the temp.

have i pretty much got it down in a nut shell?

oh should i top the coolent up through the raidiator cap aswell?

cheers

you talking about flushing the radiator or the coolant system?

With the radiator, ive only heard of back flushing which is where you take out the radiator and then turn it upside down and flush water from the hose in the reverse direction than normal.

after that you just put it back in, fill it up with coolant through the radiator cap like normal.

If you did it your way - when you take out the radiator you'll lose almost all your coolant so when you put it back together you will be running the car with no coolant in it, as you know, bad idea.

If you wanna flush the coolant system, you undo the bottom radiator hose and drain the system, then reconnect the hose. You then fill the system with water from the hose and add one of those coolant system flush bottles from supercheap. you then follow the instructions (usually run the car for 20 mins) then you can let the car cool, undo the bottom radiator hose again let all the water out, reconnect the hose, then you fill the system with the green stuff, done.

hope this helps somewhat

ok i just flushed it then, but now my tempeture guage isnt moving.
Ive never noticed before but does the temp move straight away when u start the car?

I know it works cause it was before i flushed the radiator.

edit: ok now the fans behind the radiator are not moving!
