Hey guys,
In the middle of tuning my system and just curious what you guys think is a good range to tune both the HPF and LPF. At the moment i've got my fronts at the highest HPF, same with my rears, and i have 1 sub running at 50hz, and the other at 250hz (ones right at the bottom, ones right up the top). So what's a good frequency for the fronts, rears and subs? I listen to dance/techno mainly, a little bit of mainstream here and there.
just play with it till u think it sounds good...
from what im reading your system is all treble and bass.....some midrange probably wouldnt hurt.

Subs crossover point is 80, fronts hp point at 50-80.
Depends what your fronts can take. and how loud you want it.
Louder = higher high pass...

Ok so if i put my HPF set to 50-80, it'll filter out all freq below that, but if i were to do 50-80 on lpf it would filter everything above? i never understood why hpf went right down, cheers! :). Also i think my amps only go down to 250 on HPF, should i just set the fronts to the lowest?

Hmmm 250 is pretty high. May be better to go full range. But try both. With full range you'll get good midbass, the speakers themselves will naturally roll off, but you will notice distortion with any decent volume.
If you set lpf to 80, it does not act as a brick wall. It gently slopes down so you will still get lower frequencies coming through, these will be attenuated though.
This lets you blend seamlessly. The steeper the slope the quicker the frequencies are attenuated. 6 db/octave is gradual, 24 db/octave is steep. (6, 12, 18, 24 are most common)
Peace

Thanks for that Tim,
Well after examing my amps closer, 250 is the MAX on my LPF lol, my boss amp goes down to 80 on the HPF and my avalanche amp goes down to 120, so i just set those 2 on the lowest setting, and then put my subs at 80, boy does the system sound so much better! Thanks for your help guys!
Only 1 problem is that the boot rattles twice as loud now lol, so i gotta get some sound deadening for that (it's so bad you can hear it IN the car with the middle section closed :cry: )
Cheers mate!
