Okai ive got door pods screwd into my door trims on a 92 TR magna, and got some nice 165v2 focals installed in them.
But the way it is, its impossible to get it installed decent, eg with sound deadening and blocking up all air holes etc.
Do the verada or some other magna/mitsu car have door trims that have stock speakers pods in them, so i can just go down to the wreckers, buy these trims and screw them into my doors.
By the way im going to buy some new splits, so if the holes in the new trims are only 6" then ill just buy 6" speakers.

I just looked up some pics of the KS door trims, and they've got the pods like i want but their electric windows.
I have manual ones, is their anything i can do here, how hard could it be to transfer the electric window motors into my doors?

if you found another donor vechile which you could take all the parts off, i wouldnt say it would be to hard, just a simple swap over but electrice is where you will run into problems.

TS magna's DO NOT have door pods, and as far as i know, the pods just unscrew, so you'd just have to make screw holes in your magna trim or convert to electric windows (which would require alot more effort, OR you could just cut a hole for the manual winder in the verada trim.

actually, The TR and TS do come with door speakers and front door trims with speaker grilles but only in the elite's otherwise the donor has top be a KR/KS Verada. All the TR/TS-KR/KS with 6 speaker stereos also had power mirrors so to use the verada/elite door trims would also involve fitting the power windows. to retrofit power windows requires changing the main body wiring loom and the dashboard loom, if you are going to go to this trouble then you may as well fit cruise, climate control and the Verada/elite trim while you at it.
Note the wiring loom has to be from a vehicle with the same basic mechanicals as yours eg, a manual loom doesn't have wiring for the auto computer, cruise control vehicles have different body and engine wiring looms and 4 and 6 cyl are probably slightly different etc, To fit the accessories you want then I would suggest getting complete doors, the body wiring loom with fuse box and the power window relay from under the bonnet.
I have reshelled a hale damaged fully optioned 4cyl manual SE, into a straight body that was originally a 4cyl auto executive, luckily I started with the intention of changing everything anyway because either way I would of had to.

I have a TS Exec.
I bought a set of Verada door trims with the different map pockets that include speaker grills.
I took the map pocket/speaker grills off the Verada door trims and screwed them onto my exec door trims - simple.
When I later bought the Leather Interior, it came with another set of Verada Door Trims - this time I just took the Leather trim bit off and fitted it to my door trims.
So, if anyone is interested. I still have a set of Verada door trims which still have the Map Pocket/Speaker Grilles and the red lights. (but not all switches & cloth bits)
I could take a look and see what condition they are in if someone is interested.
(I live near Ballarat, Victoria - so postage may also be needed - unless your close enough)
Warning: it's pretty cold up here tho - it's snowing!!! :bowrofl:

how hard is it to replace the trim? Can you just put the map pockets and pods into a normal door or do you need the whole trim?

Really, all you need is the map pockets/speaker grilles from the front doors and the carpet trim and red lights from the rear doors.
Remove your door trims.
Remove your map pockets.
Drill a few new holes in the existing door trims and a hole for the 'red lights'.
Screw the new pockets/speaker pods on.
Re-install the door trims.
What you see in the attached photo (previous post) is my Exec standard trims with Verada Leather bit and map-pockets/speaker bits.
(Note: I do not have speakers installed behind my grilles yet - that's a future install. I have the headunit - just not the speakers)
pm sent bout the speaker covers

Sure your not confusing electric mirrors with electric windows? Even my car has elec mirrors and it was one of the first TR's built :).

I was thinking about swapping from wind up windows to elec windows, but i dont think i would be able to do it. I have a GLX which has no electric windows or mirrors, so if i was to change door trims will i have to get electric mirrors also? GRDPuck how much for the door trims and is it a set of 4 or 2?
