G'day guys,
I'm new with the magna's so excuse my inexperience here. Looking into getting a magna, looks as though I might buy my Dad's 12/97 Advance 5 speed Wagon, but I have a few questions.

In relation to lowering of the magna's (particularly the wagon, but also the sedans) I would imagine I would like some King Springs lows or ultra lows, but my queiry is, when lowering these things apart from the standard issues like wheel allignment and possibility of bushes etc, are shorter shocks or anything else like this required? I'll be doing all the work myself and have worked on all my cars over the time (including my Datto 1600's [turbo's and atmo's] my VL Calais Turbo etc) and have lowered all of these myself, but in some instances with car's like the VL (with lows) they require shorter rear shocks and in the instance of (superlows) they also require an adjustable panhard rod.

What I was wondering is are there any tricks / components that people could recommend or any bits and pieces I should be aware of ??

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks, Nick (XTC16)

Bump already? Patience Grasshopper...

Shorter shocks are not required, a lot of people keep the standard shocks (I wouldn't, but that is just me).

Camber kits may be required (sometimes are, sometimes aren't, but it is a good idea to fit one, just in case).

For true handling, you really should be thinking whiteline rear swaybar (totally transforms the handling of the vehicle, you can fit yourself in 2 hours or so) - IMHO totally necessary.

Front swaybar is also a worthwhile mod, but not as simple to fit.

Front strutbrace... err... I know a few people will chime in and jump down my throat but - save your money (unless you like a nice pretty shiny thing in the engine bay...

Cheers

Not really much to add. Just depends what you want to do with the car.

I recommend getting new shocks if you're getting lowered springs.

You won't need a panhard rod, however depending on how low you go, the static camber in the front might be out of alignment due to the properties of a MacPherson suspension, so you'll need at most a camber bolt kit to fix that.

Rears should be fine, thanks to the semi-trailing arm suspension on the wagons :)
I'd recommend upgrading the rear sway bar to the Whiteline ones to give a tad bit more firmness in the rear.

I've just had the Whiteline 'The Works' kit fully installed (A process of two weeks for me) and well....I wouldn't recommended it for Sydney city drivers.
