Hey just wondering what the engine mods are that the sport has that gives it an extra 8kw over the exeutive. As the exeutive has 155kw and the sport has 163kw. I have read that it is just simply a change to a lukey muffler? Is this right?

The generally accepted answer is that the muffler makes all the difference.

You could try putting the question to Mitsubishi and seeing what they say, though.

i believe its just the exhaust (IMHO)...

I think they tinker with a couple of other things too.. Tweak the computer a tad maybe.. not sure..

Slight cam adjustments, different ECU mapping and different exhaust.

OK - Hassled the loacl Mitsubishi parts place, they may have messed up but anyways...

Cams are the same (identical part numbers) all through the range except ralliart.

Computers are the same (for manual, Autos are different due to tiptronic apparently) for all except ralliart.

Exhausts are different.

An 8Kw difference on a 155Kw / 163 Kw ie 5% increase - definitly exhaust. 5% is stuffall, and easily achievable.

The part numbers for the 'sports' dealer option exhaust, and VRX/Sports are exactly the same... So get yourself a dealer option exhaust ($400) and you get the same performance as a sports - though the weight advantage of the exec (lighter) tips the balance in the execs favour :o)

I was about to comment, that if they have done anything ELSE but the can (muffler) and ONLY gained 8 kW, I would have been quite conserned of those kind of mods (which only provide 8 kW in total).
I have my fire extinguisher ready if flaming begins - no reason for flaming you.
Now - if Ralliart has a modified ECU, how much would it cost and would it be better to use than Greddys or UniChips or HalTechs or PowerChips or....? Or is it the Ralli camshafts which make the biggest diff?

Yes - the zorst is teh only difference - and it isn't even an exhaust - just the muffler change - and $400 for a factory muffler?? Dam - Lukey fitted for less than $200!!

they got a different trim on the seats and doors aswell,
other wise nothing much

i got a tf sports, changed the crappy stock myffler straight away, nice big cannon :D

can u get the executive's in manual ?

For those that still believe there IS such thing as a Rallyart Chip....

The Rallyart Magna has the following additions/changes/modifications.

(A) 10% higher lift cams (no cam profile/timing change)
(B) Semi Headers system
(C) Higher compression 9.5 : 1 pistons
(D) LSD front differential
(E) Remapped computer
(F) High Flow rear exhaust (same as VRX)

SO... Unfortunatly there is no special ecu swap possible as it would not run on your car, probably wont start or will run rich / lean, and you will loose performance.

There as been said no difference except the rear muffler.

As for the Ralliart, It has as said differentt cams, these I'm getting, different heads, they have been ported and polished a little bit,(also another upgrade I'm getting ) ungraded valve springs for the cams, different pistons and a higher compression, headers although at the price of them you would just get RPWs, LSD ( manual only) and a slightly remapped computer ( waste of time getting this to try on your own car.

booya gained 100kw at the fly............
BTW- i dont think they ported or polished. It would cost to much as it would have to all be hand done.

;) Took you a while to respond.... But, yeh, I hope this data puts end to some of the mod-questions and thoughts I have seen on this Forum.
But - what if I buy the Ralliart side stripes, would that make the car faster?
:oops: Or doesn't it have any? Dunnydoor S-pacs do, and they are Supercars! Am I right or am I right....? ;)
