as it states i have this whirring noise from either near the transmission area or drivers side tyre or something in that general area. I dont think its cv joints as its not a grinding noise and it only does it when i get above 50km/h and doesnt do it around corners. i was thinking maybe wheel bearing or something but i dunno hence asking. car is a TR 2.6L auto. any help would be appreciated.

Hey man I have the exact same car and the exact same problem too !! HAhhaha the only thing is that it came only aft i roteted the rear tyres to the front as pasrt of my normal tyre rotation after 10 ,000 kms ... so the noise is definatly from your tyres man ... no idea whats wrong as my tyres are perfectly good .... maybe a tyre balancing should do the trick !

Actually yeh, when did you last get your wheels aligned/balanced. Try that, if that fails i reckon it's wheel bearings, i probably should have had a listen tonight :P.

it only does it when i get above 50km/h .
makes it a bit hard for other people to hear unless they go for a drive in the car.
but yeh my tyres do need a balance, badly. just havnt had any time for it.
