ok, So i've so far installed my front drivers door controller arm and the wiring harness to engine bay.
I find the push and pull to be rather slow, there not greatly fast are they.
havent exactly timed it, may tomorrow once the passenger side is in, but
does anyone else find there power windows slow?
im thinking about a 7 second from fully opened to close.
part from that the doors look way nicer, just so much neater.
have to remove my guards 1 day and make larger grommits, stock ones i cant fit back on.

the only 1st gen ive seen with power windows had very slow rear windows, the front ones were ok.

i have this problem too but only with my back ones due to mistus STUPID idea of usin a pully system how gay :doubt: but the best way to make them faster is take out fully clean all the tracks and arms then use a nice grade oil i know bcx7 knows the type but i cant think of what its called its about $20 a tube also if you have the time and effort pull the motor apart and service that too does wonders
btw my drivers window is probally 2.5-3 seconds passangers about 4 and the rear are just a joke i didnt get the time to look at them but ill be pulling them out and replacing the motors from the wreckers with front motors as there used more and arnt crap
also i find there ALOT faster in summer then in winter...but this would be because of the heat on the oil

well, if i eventually get sick of having slow windows i may service the motor. it's not of great concern atm. the only reason i went power windows is on the continuing effort to make my car an Elite :D
i could just buy an alite wagon, but like i can find 1. plus then id have to deconvert it from EFI so meh.
i figured dry lube may help,
i know that 1 of the wheels was clogged and the glass arm holder was spinning on lube. however probably due to my poor storage, once there in and i use em a few times it may loosen them up, bought the stystem like 3yrs ago, so they've been dorment since.

btw, i've got heaps a pics of that elite in ure avator mad lante', dont tell me u own that now? nice car if u do.

I found on my old Elite the best way to fix the slowness of the windows is to spray silicon spray into the tracks.

I am interested in wacking power windows into the Elante, how hard was it? Where did you have to wire back into the main harness?

option.

its dead easy to install the windows. i had to run power cable back to the main relay box. theres a thread in here about my altering the relay to work with key out of ignition. and shows a mini diagram of how its done.

Elante 1 doesnt have them, it is a base Elante with no "luxury pack"
Elante 2 does as it has a "luxury pack" (also included central locking and cruise).

Thanks, I am going to have a go at it shortly, but I want to see if I can get some Elante Power Window door trims first. I am not fussed on it working with the key out of the ignition, it never bothered me with the Elite when I owned it.

elante trims, elite trims close to same thing.
the only thing diff u do when wiring to ignition, if the switch line to accessories. gets rigged to a 12volt source that only recives power once keys in ignit to acc.

You know what I don't get, why my TP has power mirrors but no power windows...who the hell uses power mirrors? You set it up once and that's it...stupid, ahh well, not like I even care just felt like a rant.

EASSSY cept the backs if u have tinted windows as the window umm what do u call them err the metal bits that are glued on the window yer there different so 1st i had to rip them off of the ones at the wreckers = easy then takin mine off with out scraching the tint and cracking the window = VERY VERY hard but i did it and reglued the p/w bracket
also u have to make ur own loom as there isnt any wires for it as Aströn Boy has said but the wire wasnt cheap cos i have to get like 20a **** and i wanted to get different colours so i knew exactly what was what

my rear doors looms were partially destroyed, so i used the wire from that, as its all the same stuf, i just made a mini 2 door harnss with that.

btw ive seen an exact replica of that red and gold coar here in aus., had TM elite badge, got pics of it
yes tis a nice car.

btw sicness, i find power mirrors good.
diff people drive the car at diff heights and blah, then they dont have to lean acorss the car for passenger every 5seconds to level it up, just use the remote. i like em.

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/634856 there we go 3rd pic down click it to make it better cos its HOOOTTT!!!! :D

and yer i love my power mirrors they come in handly alot like when im towing i can quickly move it up and down to see if the loads ok on that side also i used it to park near a curb (move it down heaps) then i know i wont make a fool of my self but scraching the rims and then when i drive along pop it back up

Power mirrors appeared on TN/P Execs and up from memory.

I dont have decent door trims to go in the Elante, the ones I have are from my old TM Elite, they are YUK. With the wiring, I will probably just strip the wires out of the harness in the Elite when I wreck it.

also with the trims i had to sperate my current ones with the elante trim on them and get a set from the wreckers that where the same colour and yer seperated the top from the lower then gluded/poprivited them so they looked stock with the right trim on em

bit of work but it was worth it

thats actually 1 car i didnt put in the sapporo section on fastmagna.
but unlike most the other cars in that section, i didnt know the owner of that car. so meh oh well.

my passenger side is even slower than my drivers side. if i have both up, and push down on both buttons same time, lhs is about 1.5second slower.
oh well, i barely use the windows anyway, cept stupid toll booths.

I think to lube up the window tracks.
I use Silicon spray for that :)
